Guest muude Posted December 17, 2002 Report Posted December 17, 2002 You all say that SD is about 4 x times as fast as MMC, but how does that affect playing videos? Does it lag with the MMC or can you run more fps or doesn't it really matter :?: :?: All I know from you guys is that SD is about 4 x times as fast, but what about videos :?: :?:
Guest muude Posted December 17, 2002 Report Posted December 17, 2002 Could it really be that noone knows?? WOW!!
Guest pibrahim Posted December 17, 2002 Report Posted December 17, 2002 I read an article on the net somewhere that seemed to suggest that the difference in speed would be absolutely negligible on the SPV.
Guest aal234 Posted January 21, 2003 Report Posted January 21, 2003 I use both mmc and sd cards in my pocket PC for video at rates upto 200kbps and there seems to be no real difference between them. So at the lower rates used on SPV there should be no problem at all.
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted January 21, 2003 Report Posted January 21, 2003 The SPV seems to be unable to write data to SD cards particulary quickly, hence the large delay when saving a picture taken by the camera. I managed to crash my SPV for the first time yesterday when trying to perform a load of other commands while saving a picture. Imho i'd go for SD cards over MMC, as they are more future proof.
