Hello,

I have an E200, one of the perks of working for Orange Retail, anyway I want to change the start menus but everything seems to be locked.

Basically I want to remove some menu items and move some into personal folders on the start menu.

Does anyone know how to unlock and edit them?

Thanks

Lyle

Excuse me if you already knew this....

Did you try going into your IPSM/Windows/Start Menu via ActiveSync Explore and create new folders there? I personally have mine set at

1 - Settings

2 - Accessories

3 - Communication

4 - Games

5 - Multimedia

6 - Productivity

7 - Reference

8 - Utilities

With the appropriate shortcuts under each.

As far as rearranging the order of shortcuts in the start menu...please see the Customization Discussion FOrum where you'll find many threads on Tweaks. Look for on estarted by Midnight. It has what you are looking for.

If I am presumptious and assume incorrectly that the OS2002 Tweaks are the same for the OS2003....I apologize.

I know where the shortcuts are but when I try to move items such as "Internet Explorer" to a folder it shows the following

Any ideas?

Use the OTA unlock via the developers site and then you will be able to move those files freely, had same prob, obviously still some things need the phone to be unlocked, nice one Orange

Im not sure about the E200 but isnt it that the first 4 shortcuts (Inbox,Contacts,Calendar,Internet Explorer) in the prorams menu is permanent and cannot be moved?

No, you can move everything but like Rob.P says you might need to get your phone unlocked first. I have my menu set up in a similar way to encece with all the stuff you mention above in sub-folders.

cool thanks for your help!

Sounds good as i want all shortcuts in subfolders the reduce the main menu size.

Just have to wait for Orange to get an unlocking soloution for the E200!

You should still be able to unlock it using the old method - follow this link: OTA.

This Orange site says

"We are currently working on providing an unlock/lock process for the SPV E200 which will be coming soon."

Don't fancy trying the E100 method just in case.....

It worked ok for my e200, It checks your IMEI no. against there database so they must realise its unlocking there e200's

Kool, got my E200 unlocked by just using the method for SVP and E100.

One last question, I have ordered my menu down to just 8 items, can i order the items or do you have to go with the default?

Cheers

The menu items pretty much go in alphabetical order, there's not much you can do about that I'm afraid

yes but still you can re-arrange its order by renaming the shortcuts by adding numbers in the beginning (ex. 01 SP Task Manager; 02 Smart Explorer....and so on) such that it will re-arrange in numerical order. But keep in mind that the first four apps: Inbox, Contacts, Calendar, IE are fixed and cannot be rearrange

IMO, you can re-arrange the first four apps (observed it on my qtek rom)... i've edited my registry and placed my BrAGoL folder right after the Inbox link... don't have any idea if it's also working on the other roms...
