Guest Posted November 21, 2003 Report Posted November 21, 2003 i've got 9 usb ports on the back of my computer, any idea which one to move it to and why i should need to do it, and how the problem was caused? thanks
Guest kevlar Posted November 21, 2003 Report Posted November 21, 2003 Not really, all I know is how I had it plugged in initially, active sync said the port was unavailable, no matter which com port I selected. After swapping a few usb cables about ( I have 2 sockets in the usuall place, near ps2,serial etc, and another 2 on a pci slot backplate plugged into my motherboard ) and then doing a comport search in active sync, the ports were then reported available, and it all started working properly. How do you have 9 usb sockets? I'm assuming you have a hub, apparently some dongles, infact other usb products also, including my printer, don't like being plugged into a hub. Hope this helps Kevlar
