it runs on Symbian 60 Series with a number of enhancements by Sendo.

Note that the 'homescreen' is similar to the Smartphone OS. hehe

I believe that the best feature of smartphone os is used here, in the very nice Series 60 platform, this should be a GREAT OS and a grear phone! including another processor for graphics and audio called GraphiX and a superb speaker system called SoniX!

Not to mention built in camera flash, great screen, nice design, mp3!

Great hardware and great software! here as some actual pics I only got my hands on two days ago, as oppose to computer generated pics.

it's pretty small pa, kaya ok. pero after nokia came up with 7650/3650, parang i don't trust the symbian os as compared to ms smartphone.

@dobby - the SAP or Tanager was not made by Orange, rather its by HTC of Taiwan, which is also the maker of XDA, if im not mistaken. Orange is just a telecom company/carrier in Europe, much like Smart of the Philippines. Orange happens to be the first telecom that released the first smartphone made by HTC, the SPV/Canary which is the predecessor of the SAP/Tanager/E100/SPVx :lol:

available na ba to dito s tin? How much kaya to?

Here's the email conversation with a Sendo top man (date: Nov 17 03):

Dear Mr. Marijke van Hooren:

Hello. I would like to ask if the Sendo X smartphone will be available here in the Philippines? What company here in the Philippines are you going to appoint to distribute/retail your amazing Sendo X smartphone? Also, how much will it cost (in terms Philippine peso or US dollars)?

Thanks and have a nice day.

The reply:

It is a little bit too early to give answers to your questions. We are planning to launch the Sendo X in Asia in the first half of next year.

To give you an idea abou the price. In Italy, the Italian operator TIM is planning to launch SIM free for approx. 500 Euros.

Best regards,

Marijke van Hooren

@grifter

it seemed that you were wooing the forum to go for sendo x... not really comparing it with SAP. anyways, if this is Symbian OS, then that means i'll have a hard time installing Apps there dahil limited right? unlike Windows OS na easily available especially here sa Pinas?

@sonborj,

I was comparing it with the Voyager, not the Tanager (SAP).

With regards to the Symbian vs MSFT issue, well, it's just like comparing PC to MAC. It's all just a matter of preference. As for the software availability, I think there are quite a lot of Symbian software available, I've seen a lot of freeware apps, games, etc.
