Just a quick list of problems so far:

Email doesn't send and recieve automatically

SPV image better than e200

GPRS does not disconnect

All day events stick to homescreen

Bluetooth kills battery

Movie Player doesn't work properly

Backlight still goes out on media player too quickly

Core Start Menu Icons can't be moved (maybe a fix now)

Missing Sd Card with Extra Software on

No File Explorer again (using smart explorer now though

Sorry if these things have been covered but its good to talk

I like my SPVe200 and all these problems are annoying but heh, who wants a bloody nokia  .

What do you mean by :

All day events stick to homescreen

If you put in your Calendar an All day event the Appointment appears on your Orange Home Screen. Trouble is though that when the appointment has passed i.e. the next day it is still there...

What with this list and other "undocumented features" I'm begining to wonder if I've chosen the right phone!

I'll wait til it arrives and judge for myself, but I'm not too impressed with what i've heard so far.

It is a good phone don't get me wrong, but i wanted to make this phone my own i.e buy software for it, tuck it up in bed every night but if these problems persist it will remain just a phone not a companion.

I have not got time to mess around with work-arounds...

hmmmmmm

me thinks that the calender does not update the place that the plugins must query for the data so the old "all day event" is still there, there are issues I know with having both calendar and all day event on the same homescree, and this plugin is problematic on the SPV and the E100 (and the Compal AR11) so me thinks its something MS need to fix not Orange

Well if that is the case roll on some new Homscreens which paste over the cracks.

Not sure if this is to be regarded a bug, bad design or if I just haven't sussed it out yet, I've already posted about this but nobody replied

Here Goes; my e200 has setup my email accounts automatically, the first time I syncronized with my pc. The problem being I have 2 email accounts on my pc, and it setup both of them on the phone. I didn't want it to. I just want to check my main account, not my spam account. I can't find out how to remove the spam account from the phone, therefore everytime I send and receive ( I do this every 15 minutes ) I get messages, but 9 times out of ten they are just pornographic spam. OK, I'm only downloading the header which isn't costing much gprs, but it is annoying to have to keep checking my messages everytime it finds a spam.

If I've screwed this up in anyway please put me straight, I don't remember being asked during active sync setup if I wanted to transfer email accounts across, and as I said, I can't seem to find the details on the phone to delete this account.

Hopefully

Go to Inbox, Menu, Account Set Up. Then hilight the account you want to delete, then click Menu and Delete

(This works for accounts you set up manually, I've not tried letting it set them up automatically)

Posted

Nope. As you said, this only shows accounts set up manually, which I also did for my main account before I realised the phone had setup email accounts itself. Can you check what accounts you have listed please? Mine says 1 MMS, 2 SMS, 3 ActiveSync, 4 NTLWorld.com ( the manual one ). I'm assuming the accounts setup automatically are in the 3 Active Sync bit, but I can't do anything with it. With it highlighted pressing menu brings up New, Edit and delete, but edit and delete are greyed out.

Have you tried removing the partnership and trying again. Put your Spam account into a subfolder in outlook but this time when you setup partnership select inbox and try ticking only the sub folders you want.

maybe just maybe

Ok, just had a quick look, how do you move the account? its not like moving messages, the accounts are not there to be moved that I can see.

cheers

Its not the homescreens its the plugin data, the data that the plugins "read" aren't updated by Outlook when the clock rolls over, direct date changes do work na do cause the even to disapprear, the data store hte plugins use may not get the appropriate notifciation or realise there has been a data change (or expiry).

Its not the account you move as such it is the destination of the emails. Rather than the spam emails going into inbox you can setup a rule which states that all emails coming in on the spam account go straight into a subfolder. Outlook Filters and Rules can be very useful for seperating regular email sources into organised subfolders. Try looking in help on outlook. Or if you have xp outlook right click on any email for spam account and select create rule and follow the wizard...

I think I would try exporting your spam account from Outlook, then delete the account. Then Sync again with mobile. You can then import the spam account back into Outlook :?:

Fair enough then lets hope the plugins are sorted then.....

ARRRGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :x :x :x :x .

This is really doing my head in!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is what I've just done. In Outlook I deleted my spam account altogether, and set it up in outlook express ( the phone only syncs with outlook, right? ). Deleted partnership in Active Sync on the pc. make new partnership ( note, I've now tried this a few times and at no point does it offer you the option to transfer accounts across ). That should be it, right? no 'kin chance, my phone is still collecting emails from my spam account, and I still can't see where these account details are stored. Also, I deleted my maually created account on my phone, thinking that my main account detalis would still be there anyway, but then there was no option to send/receive, as if the manual account was the only one there. I recreated the manual account, it should now be the only account settings there, and the phone is still collecting from both accounts.

Can anyone please shed any light on this? where is the phone getting my spam account details from?

very frustrated

Battery life is no better than my E100 with the original 1.5 rom.

Can anyone else help me resolve this please, otherwise I'm going to have to shut down my spam account, which I don't want to do as this is the account details I give out to websites etc. In any case, if I shut down the account the phone will still try to connect to it and come back with connection errors.

Might seem harsh, but a hard reset may be your only option.

Dont have my e200 yet so can't really help

The GPRS auto-disconnect is annoying, apart from that, everythings working brilliant, specially Pocket TV. Anyone found any problems with bluetooth yet ? Didnt think I'd use it atall when I heard about it but it comes in handy !! Did my first "bluejack hit" yesterday too  !

Here is my list of 'faults' & problems I've noted ocer the past 12 hrs  In oder of annoyance

* Joystick too sensitive, hard to press it with it moving direction

* Buzzing problem with earpiece / sensitive to bass

* Design / navugation of different mail /sms / mms account. I really hate having to check different folders and going from say the inbox to drafts is too longwinded. Should have just created different account into user created folders. Very dissapointed by this on ;)

* GPRS stays on

* Can't fully change / arrange start menu

* No ringtones from SD Card

Agreeing with a few posts above, the joystick is too sensitive, but I think the main problem is it is too short, if it was a 1mm or more longer it would be easier to push accross without pressing the friggin' action button. I think it is going to take HTC about 5 models before they get it right.

obviously the gprs not disconnecting is a major problem. I just can't work out how a bug ( feature ? ) like this gets through, the only conclusion you can draw is they knew about it, and said stuff it, we'll sort it later. They couldn't have not known about it.

Obviously the T9 problem.

Something I haven't seen anyone else mention though, I think the sound is poor, sounding tinnier than my old spv, with a tinny rattle noise during calls. Maybe my handset is faulty.

The camera is still a little slow, taking a second or 2 to react, and display the result. My m8's samsung's camera is instant.

I do love the phone though, it's way sexier than the spv/e100.
