Guest stevewright Posted November 21, 2003 Report Posted November 21, 2003 When Orange quotes "tariffs under £25, £25-£30 and over £30" is that just on the talk plan or does it include the addons? E.g. I pay: OVP T-Mobile Everytime 30 = £15 Text 60 = £4 GPRS 1 = £2 Orange Care = £5 Total = £26 (minimum obviously) Does this put me in the middle category?
Guest dom Posted November 21, 2003 Report Posted November 21, 2003 Don't know, but something you could do is buy the phone on a £25 tariff, then change it straight down to the lower tariff once you've got the phone.
Guest stevewright Posted November 21, 2003 Report Posted November 21, 2003 Yep, that's what I did when I got my SPV. Upgraded in an Orange shop, they phoned up OCS and upped the tariff, I phoned back in a week and put it down again! I was more asking because I know when trying to bargain with Orang£, they look at your monthly bills over a long period of time, and I was wandering where I stood, i.e. which category I'm lingering in.
Guest goinnuts Posted November 21, 2003 Report Posted November 21, 2003 below £25. sorry. it goes on line rental only. but if your upgrading change your tariff when you upgrade then change down the following month.
Guest fozzie Posted November 22, 2003 Report Posted November 22, 2003 ......but if your upgrading change your tariff when you upgrade then change down the following month. I'm pretty sure that O changed their policy some time ago about doing this (I can't remember whether there was a time or a cost implication). Make sure you check with them if you intend dropping to a lower tariff straight away.
Guest briggsie1 Posted November 22, 2003 Report Posted November 22, 2003 i was told i had to wait 3 months before i could change tariffs without any hassle or penalty
Guest fozzie Posted November 22, 2003 Report Posted November 22, 2003 i was told i had to wait 3 months before i could change tariffs without any hassle or penalty I thought it was something like that. Back in the good old days you could sign up for a top end tariff, take all the freebies and discounts and then drop straight down to the tariff that you really wanted  The 3 months wait changes things a bit but there are still some good deals to be had, even by taking the higher tariff for the 3 months before switching ;)
Guest Emad Posted November 22, 2003 Report Posted November 22, 2003 It's 4 months I believe - 6 months for vodafone. I'm looking forward to my £170 cashback on my mpx200 tho
Guest casper508 Posted November 25, 2003 Report Posted November 25, 2003 I was told its ONE month AFTER the first year. So my contract runs out in 2 weeks. Then i change tarrifs, get the phone for less and change back after a month. Atleast thats what OCS told me. Cas
