E200 and Dialling Service Codes from Contacts

I have 2 contacts that have telephone numbers that are Service codes. i use these to turn diverts on and off when I swap Sims. eg **21*xxxxxxxxxx*11#

When I try this on the E200 I get a message that Service codes must me entered via the keypad only.

Does anyone know of a nifty workaround?
