Guest mjread Posted November 25, 2003 Report Posted November 25, 2003 Probably a really dumb issue and a case of rtfm (i'm hoping anyway), but I've just got a E200 on a new contract (I could rant until the cows come home about my upgrade fiasco - but I'm not) and I can't send any MMS messages. Whenever I attempt to send it starts connecting and then comes back with the error "Unable to connect. Verify you have network coverage and try again". I have verified that I have network coverage by the fact that I have full signal bar and am quite happily browsing the web. Settings/Data Connections/ has Orange MMS with orangemms set as the access point, all other settings are blank. Do I need to get O to switch something on on my account, or is there some other problem somewhere? I tried calling CS but after I grew a beard I decided to give up.
Guest statscat Posted November 25, 2003 Report Posted November 25, 2003 make sure your contract includes MMS and that its switched on, you need to ring customer services to check and get it enabled
Guest Brody Posted November 25, 2003 Report Posted November 25, 2003 I just signed a new contract for my E200, a camera phone, and didn't get MMS set up for me, you'd think it'd be standard procedure?!
Guest martin Posted November 25, 2003 Report Posted November 25, 2003 I was under the impression the MMS was now standard on Orange contract and prepaid accounts :?
Guest Brody Posted November 25, 2003 Report Posted November 25, 2003 Not on mine, I can promise you that! I was told by CS that it should have been put on but it definately wasn't :? This is even funnier when you consider that i bought a phone with a built in camera (E200), was signed up to the Orange World Access pack which allows me 20 free photo messages a month and was given 150 free photo messages to use in my first month as well!
Guest rhaleuk Posted November 25, 2003 Report Posted November 25, 2003 My MMS is not working either. I have it setup account side, but Ive now tried sending three messages to various peolpe and they have all failed! Any advice?
Guest Brody Posted November 25, 2003 Report Posted November 25, 2003 Only thing i can think is to confirm the account status, did you get sim update messages and then delete them and restart your phone? If so then i'm stuck bar checking your MMS and GPRS settings in the repository in the articles section of the forum. I can confirm compatibility from Orange to Orange, Vodafone, and O2 so far... (but not 3)
Guest debully Posted November 25, 2003 Report Posted November 25, 2003 Yeah Orange sold me an E200 and OrangeWorld (RIPOFF!!!) account. They also forgot to enable MMS and had to send a few sim updates.
Guest mjread Posted November 25, 2003 Report Posted November 25, 2003 thanks guys, phoned ocs and had it enabled on my account. a tad silly methinks. just waiting for the day now when i hear the words "we didnt realise you wanted to make calls from your phone, ill just enable that for you now."
Guest Brody Posted November 26, 2003 Report Posted November 26, 2003 Hehe, no problems mate, as i say, i was in the same situation!
Guest Rob.P Posted November 26, 2003 Report Posted November 26, 2003 ^ Ditto, I make it a standard now that I phone them and go through my account to make sure everything is active that I want, involves me talking to them like they were 5 years old but hey they should use their brains in the first place. (Do Orange issue brains when you start working for them or do you have to provide your own?)
