Guest gabrielalcivar Posted November 25, 2003 Report Posted November 25, 2003 First post.... I have been looking for days now into the forums, doing a little bit of research....now, i'm about to downgrade my Orange SPV e100 Bootloader v1.00 to v0.98, because I need to network unlock it (using Orange UK).....but i'm not quite sure what will happen with my mobile. I read that GPRS could not work in my phone? Also i haven't found out any comparison between both updates, what i'm losing/winning by downgrading my phone? I have been reading, but i'm not sure also about OS updates, iMate, Qtek.....which one is the best and most reliable of them all? My mobile is decertified....quite a lot of tweaks....i don't want to mess with the ROM if i'm not sure. cheerz
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted November 25, 2003 Report Posted November 25, 2003 Welcome to the site  Downgrading the bootloader only will not affect your phone in any way, but you can only downgrade the bootloader either by using Winhex or if you have a copy of it on SD card. DO NOT be tempted to run the UK 1.3.5 update on the phone as it is designed for the SPV and not E100. If you do run the update you will be stuck on the sunset screen.
Guest gabrielalcivar Posted November 25, 2003 Report Posted November 25, 2003 Well.....i'm gonna try to downgrade it today....thanks you!!!Well.....i'm gonna try to downgrade it today....thank you!!!
Guest gabrielalcivar Posted November 25, 2003 Report Posted November 25, 2003 Sorry for the double post............ I've been trying to use Winhex, but because it is a shareware it doesn't allow me to write the hex file into my card (nor my hard drive). I tryed another hex editor, but i couldn't make it to write the hex into the card, nor to the computer. Is there any solution for this? any free winhex? any other way to do this? How did u guys did it?? Buy winhex?!?!?!? cheerz
