Guest adrianfox Posted November 25, 2003 Report Posted November 25, 2003 Is this true? http://msmobiles.com/news.php/1700.html
Guest Schioett Posted November 25, 2003 Report Posted November 25, 2003 Damn - you just managed to post it just before me
Guest mcwarre Posted November 25, 2003 Report Posted November 25, 2003 Its probably msmobiles having another whinge. For some reason he hates the E200!
Guest Dumdidum Posted November 25, 2003 Report Posted November 25, 2003 It's posted in microsoft.public.smartphone! and not from msmobiles! But it's only one person! ......................
Guest statscat Posted November 25, 2003 Report Posted November 25, 2003 hmmmmmmm he needs to start thinking more before he types if its true I would expect Orange to have isued a product recall first or at the very least to be trying to inform customers via the website and I guess if the shops were removing it then details wouldn't be there on the web shop. If its not true I guess he will get flamed (again .....)
Guest statscat Posted November 25, 2003 Report Posted November 25, 2003 LOL msmobiles have sources ........... perish the thought news is much more exciting when you invent it. I think that somewhere lots of wires got crossed on this one its going to be one of those wait and see, will be interesting ...... If its not the case then I guess Orange aren't going to be happy about the claims he has made.
Guest midnight Posted November 25, 2003 Report Posted November 25, 2003 ignore him, he may go away if we are lucky
Guest Dumdidum Posted November 25, 2003 Report Posted November 25, 2003 He posts 50% of the post at microsoft.public.smartphone and is all the time criticized!
Guest spacecowboy6982 Posted November 25, 2003 Report Posted November 25, 2003 OMG - wots his beef with Orange and HTC?? The guy needs to get a life if he's resorted to making up stories !? I know the E-200 clearly has its bugs - but to go like that is a bit OTT.
Guest MARKUKCOUK Posted November 25, 2003 Report Posted November 25, 2003 am i the only one hoping it does get recalled? right now my handset contract isnt connected - but i have used the handset with another sim - and frankly, the call sound quality is WOEFUL both using the speaker and the same with the handset. Im not like the msmobiles guy - I REALLY wish I could own a 100% useable and working Microsoft Smartphone, but im sorry - the E200 is NOT the one. It should be, I wanted it to be - but its not. I'm making enquires as to where I stand and how I can get myself out of the contract with orange and onestop. Back to my E100 - again still waiting on the 1.6 update that still doesnt seem to be being released. To sum up: GUTTED, but im not having a handset I cant even hear people clearly on. NOT GOOD ENOUGH and no im not happy about it.
Guest statscat Posted November 25, 2003 Report Posted November 25, 2003 I think his beef with Orange comes from him being a T-Mobile user and I think they are still waiting to launch any device so he is gutted. I just wish he understood that the sensationalist approach becomes very much like "cry wolf" when he does bring something unique to the community no one will believe him plus to make matters worse, most of the issues lie with MS which he supposedly loves. I think he'll get a proverbial kicking for this, if it proves to be untrue as an E200 owner I've not received any official communications re devie recall and if it was that major then I am pretty certain that would have happened already ................
Guest Dumdidum Posted November 25, 2003 Report Posted November 25, 2003 I dont know... I like the speed of the SPV E200, but the bad bluetooth which does noth want to connect ot my iPAQ 2210 is really bad! hoping for an update!
Guest Daedalus Posted November 25, 2003 Report Posted November 25, 2003 this guy must have some serious grudge against Orange/HTC, because half of the reasons he states for Orange wanting to recall it are fake! I've had one since Friday 21st and I can officially state that: 1) you CAN insert sounds into new MMS's from the storage card, i've just sat here and done it! 2) I've been using the phone since 9:30am today on a full charge and I've been using the camera (both image and video), the multimedia album, Windows Media player, Bluetooth (both on Discover and On modes, just to pair up with a friends T610 several times and many times tried to send each other little things, just for fun and to test), a couple of calls and texts, 1 MMS and alot of fiddleing with the settings. And only at about 5:15 did the first 'Low Battery' warning come up, and that was after quite alot of use all day. Even then, it still had about 20% battery. 3) Buzzing in the speaker? Wha? I'll admit the quality is a bit muffled compared to my previous phone (Nokia 5100) but I would'nt say it was appauling. And there was certainly no buzzing. 4) and the T9 display glitch? About the first letter of a word being cut off when you try to select alternate words? Totally untrue. I tried it with the word he gave as an example and it works fine, it does'nt miss anything off. 5) I think it could actually be 8 way, or from what I can tell by the position it's in when it clicks or the way it feels. It's hard to tell, but it a lack of 8 way really such an enourmous issue? Just use the keypad like everyone else  6) The supposed 'dropping' of user-defined T9 words is a load of crap. I inputted the words 'Ipswich' and 'Colchester' in there about 3 days ago, and the phone has been turned on and off several times since then, even with the battery out for about 10 minutes, and I've just this second typed them in using T9 and they come up first time. However, all is not good...... Today, I was sitting there and I was looking through the Multimedia Album, after having just taken a picture. I then pressed the  So I don't know what this guys on about, but something must have pissed him off pretty badly to make all those accusations. p.s. excuse my spelling ;)
Guest MARKUKCOUK Posted November 25, 2003 Report Posted November 25, 2003 the buzzing is affecting a lot of people mate. im not calling you a liar - because trust me - if it was buzzing, you would know about it - you can hardly understand whats being said. seems to have affect most people, but not all.
Guest midnight Posted November 25, 2003 Report Posted November 25, 2003 and it does lose t9 words, the problem is its different times for different people, and the joystick issue affects games (xrick completely unplayable, total soccer is affected slightly, as is Odyssey and a few other games), and you cant play those games without the joystick. If one thing JPZR isnt lying about its those bugs, he's collected those from newsgroup and forum posts. But still, this is all fixable with an update, so i doubt theres a recall. (yes i know we are still waiting for 1.6)
Guest mcwarre Posted November 25, 2003 Report Posted November 25, 2003 All JPZR seems to do is be deliberately confrontational and alarmist. One of his posts causes 20-30 replies from very angry people. It seems that his input to the site is deliberately provoking. So the question is do we really need his input? A poll maybe? (I know what the answer would be, believe you me!!) Just ban him and lets get on with our lives…. Answers on a postcard……
Guest statscat Posted November 25, 2003 Report Posted November 25, 2003 It seems that his input to the site is deliberately provoking. shouldn't that be *all* sites you should see how he speaks to people on the MS newsgroups
Guest MARKUKCOUK Posted November 25, 2003 Report Posted November 25, 2003 there is a technical term for people like him... a tit.
Guest statscat Posted November 25, 2003 Report Posted November 25, 2003 There lots Technical Wannabe All Talk or if you prefer Computer User Non Technical
Guest Dumdidum Posted November 25, 2003 Report Posted November 25, 2003 it's unbelievable how he speaks to MS newsgroup-people!
Guest Lament Posted November 25, 2003 Report Posted November 25, 2003 Found a pic of him: Somebody chop it.
Guest Gnuig Posted November 25, 2003 Report Posted November 25, 2003 I really don't agree either with how he is posting 'news' on msmobiles. Yet, I do see the need for O to address the issues of the buzzing, battery (and bluetooth) and directional keypad. I am sorry to say, but I can not do with a phone that runs dead this quick... and for some of the stuff on msmobiles, I think it is ok to be a little tough on products lacking important things (like for instance the HTC O2 - e2020 will only run 32 processes before it crashes... I am sure not to go for it now instead). Only hope I can find a mpx200 here in DK, as I don't think its out yet. Maybe I am better off going back to a T68i ? What a shame. and the seimens sx1 should be out soon...

I don't 3 - Maybe not buzzing but the quality is not good. 4 - Dunno 5 - Dunno 6 - Load of crap is it? Come to my house and I'll show you it's not crap. In fact, I am prepared to say that if my phone keeps the T9 words for all the time you are here I will pay your travelling expenses and £100. If your phone is good enough for you then great. But don't flame others if they are having the problems you haven't encountered yet. ---------------------------------------------- Back to the original topic.....In a way I hope the product does get recalled. I hope Orange allow us to keep our prototypes and swap them over in a month or so for a truly bug free version of the phone. 12 months ago Orange/MS could have been forgiven for the misgivings in the SPV, but here we are 12 months and ONE update later and we have many of the same problems and many others as well. It is NOT good enough. I bought my phone form Manchester and went with a mate who bought his from P******. The sales person in the Orange shop said "Oh the SPV, you'll regret buying that"!! Talk about supporting their own product! Now although I don’t agree with her comments, I really think that this needs sorting quickly before the product actually is recalled, if it hasn’t truly been already.
