Guest Dectomax Posted November 25, 2003 Report Posted November 25, 2003 Hi, I've just ecoded an mpg of The Simpsons using Windows Media Encoder. I used the following (as advised on modaco) :- 160 x 120 8 fps 70 Kbs This came out at 11Mb and looked great on my smartphone using windows media player. If i do the same thing to the same file using TMPGEnc (for use with pocket TV) the file is 16Mb and the quality is abismal to say the least. What's the point in using Pocket TV if this is the result ?? Am I missing summat? :? Thanks.
Guest siu99spj Posted November 26, 2003 Report Posted November 26, 2003 All depends on what you're encoding and how you encode it. Don't forget Windows Media Player uses much newer codecs than MPEG1. Many people also have an extensive collection in MPG already and see no reason to change them all just for their phone. Hence the use of PocketTV. Anyway, my personal preference is PocketMVP with DivX. If you want more info, check out my guide (Media Encoding) in the FAQ. Much nicer quality (Than MPG anyway) and true full-screen.
