Guest UKMadBeef Posted November 26, 2003 Report Posted November 26, 2003 Just been tampering with the PHM Registry Editor. Found a little registry key: HKEY_CURRENT_USERControlPanelExternalLCDLogoPath This was: windowsOrangeLogo.bmp So, I loaded up Paint Shop Pro, bastardised the old logo accordingly, and saved it back to the phone in IPSMWindows - then modified the registry to point to the new file, IPSMWindowsOrangeLogo.bmp ... One reboot later, and my external LCD no longer says "Orange" Apologies if this has already been posted - couldn't find it or I'd have done it already ;)
Guest alphaflux Posted November 26, 2003 Report Posted November 26, 2003 Nice one mate. Working on doing that now. Its quite amazing what you can customise on the phone hey. Can we have that modified pic of your girlfriend now !
Guest UKMadBeef Posted November 26, 2003 Report Posted November 26, 2003 Indeed it is ... When I first got the phone, I took a quick look through the Windows folder on the ROM. The first thing that went through my head is "this is asking to be bastardised" although it's obviously not that simple to get at certain stuff. Lots of fun though  Still, I'm more than impressed with what you *can* get at (well, now it's app unlocked, like) and I'm sure the rest will come. I wouldn't mind something to keep the external LCD backlight on all the time when it's charging, for instance. As for girlfriend pics, I'll let you know when I get a decent 80x48 black and white rendition of her in the buff ... eheheh ;)
Guest Shuflie Posted November 26, 2003 Report Posted November 26, 2003 Just post the 1600*1200 24Bit orignals and I'm sure someone will convert them for you
Guest Bunchie Posted November 26, 2003 Report Posted November 26, 2003 Wow! I like it very much! Seems this phone is just so tweakable. Keep em coming guys!
Guest UKMadBeef Posted November 26, 2003 Report Posted November 26, 2003 My digicam is only 1280x1024, will that do?
Guest goinnuts Posted November 26, 2003 Report Posted November 26, 2003 if i did it charcoal then scanned it would that work.
Guest opbyrne Posted November 27, 2003 Report Posted November 27, 2003 Where can i get a registry editor? and is it too dodgy to muck around if you dont know exactly what you are doing? I've read lots of posts which let you do cool stuff by adjusting properties in the registry. Should i leave it well alone?! cheers
Guest ixtab Posted November 27, 2003 Report Posted November 27, 2003 Strange... the phone from AT&T Wireless doesn't have this key there... Anyone in the US found the key?
Guest deanrh Posted November 27, 2003 Report Posted November 27, 2003 this is an excellent little tweak, now u can put a little comment on the screen. cool. Dean
Guest Paul [MVP] Posted November 27, 2003 Report Posted November 27, 2003 For anyone who fancies doing some clever logos, the original is attached to give you something to work from. It's 2 colour 80 x 48 pixels. POrangeLogo.zip

Guest midnight Posted November 27, 2003 Report Posted November 27, 2003 hows this? .... Paul told me it was inverted, so i've fixed it ;)MoDaCo_LCD.pngMoDaCo_LCD.zip
Guest Shuflie Posted November 27, 2003 Report Posted November 27, 2003 How about this for something quick and informative, bit crude though be warned.OrangeLogo.zip
Guest UKMadBeef Posted November 27, 2003 Report Posted November 27, 2003 For AT&T phones (ie. ones that don't have the registry key and display only the clock) try this: "1. Added the registry value that "Guest" mentioned and pointed it to a 80x48 pixel 2 color bitmap that I placed in my "IPSMWindows" directory. 2: I changed the existing registry value of "FlipLogo" from "0" to "1". " This quoted courtesy of Sarc on the MPx200.org forums. Cheers mate ;) In a nutshell, if the registry key ain't there - just create it. (type: REG_SZ in case you're wondering) FlipLogo is 1 on my phone by default, but FlipLogo 0 I assume would save you having to flip and mirror it in Paint Shop Pro or whatever you use. HTH. Bring on the bastardised logos you Photochoppers :( Also, goinnuts, would next Tuesday be OK for my girlfriend to come round to your house and pose nude? Ta
Guest tomdbomb61 Posted November 27, 2003 Report Posted November 27, 2003 right im completely new to this registry business, ive downloaded the modaco logo that paul put on here, and ive also downloaded and install regedit program. could some give me a step by step guide to exactly how i go about editting the registry and changing the logo, thanks tom
Guest tomdbomb61 Posted November 27, 2003 Report Posted November 27, 2003 ignore that last post ive had a play around and have sorted it myself . when i had my old spv i installed midnights reg tweaks, do we know if these are worth installing on the mpx200? tom:)
Guest Sarc Posted November 28, 2003 Report Posted November 28, 2003 Just to clarify, the "FlipLogo" reg value is actually more of a on/off kinda' thing. So, a value of "0" the external LCD will not show the logo, and a value of "1" the LCD will show the logo. Coming from a natural point of view, all the images made for use on the phone will need to be inverted to be oriented correctly when someone is using the phone.
Guest CPhoenix Posted December 2, 2003 Report Posted December 2, 2003 Hmmm this only seems to change the logo when its open.... it still has my operator logo on when its closed. Anyone got any idea how to modify this as well? Cheers CPhoenix
Guest FrankyG Posted December 2, 2003 Report Posted December 2, 2003 You can select between 3 styles for the LCD display when it's closed. Setting > phone settings > Ext LCD Style.
Guest Shuflie Posted December 2, 2003 Report Posted December 2, 2003 You should also note that that is not your operators logo that you are seeing, it is the network that you are connected to which is a slightly different thing and could be quite useful if you have a homescreen which doesn't display which network you are on (handy when you are in a border area and you might have roamed off your home network).
Guest Charlie Mouse Posted March 4, 2004 Report Posted March 4, 2004 For anyone thats interested, here is the logo of Burton Snowboards for the external screen.Burton2.zip

Guest awarner [MVP] Posted March 15, 2004 Report Posted March 15, 2004 The .bmp is mentioned in the first post :) then modified the registry to point to the new file, IPSMWindowsOrangeLogo.bmp ... Have a read and it explains the reg setting you need to change as well
