@Brigoli

as they say, the future cannot be without the past, but nooo... i'm not from the past, amnesia perhaps? the warning sign seems familiar tho

i remember watching from cnn, can't really remember when, perhaps it was the amnesia, some economic/political analyst saying "the Philippines has an immature democracy blah blah blah" pity that it seems futile we try to change things from the inside, but try we must, hope we do, sacrifice we should.

quoted from philstar

"Meanwhile, Poe, labeled as the king of the Philippine movies, has been missing in action since declaring he is available for the presidency.

He was a no-show at Saturday’s meeting of the country’s captains of industry, and sent Sotto instead. He was invited to yesterday morning’s Senate flag-raising ceremony, but begged off for unknown reasons."

tsk tsk tsk... and so it begins

what a waste of taxpayers money!

For one, I think we should continue doing posting here at Modaco to help our fellow SAP users. This is a good thing because it encourages social bonding even though we don't see each other at least we share a common interest. Helping our fellow Filipino is a great way to help the country.

Here's what I am scared of...

The masses are exhasperated looking for equal opportunity and access to the nations wealth (education, health care, job opportunities, economic gains, housing, etc.) which they failed to receive from past Presidents (Magsaysay, they say, is an exception). We have seen the wrath of EDSA 3 at Malacanang.

They find hope in the likes of ERAP and D KING because the movies these people did identified with them, plus their simplicity and sincerity that seasoned politicians do not have. The masses can not and will not understand why past Govt's. was not able to address their needs squarely but rather gives bias to big businesses. (i.e. prices of basic utilities and goods are sky rocketing businesses can easily impose an increase but an increase in the mimimum wage takes time. When and if it increases, it is not at par with the cost of living which pushes the poor into undignified ways to survive). They look at ERAP and D KING as their kakampi who will make decisions that are fair if not totally biased for them, which past Presidents, they presumed, did not do. Remember how SOME big businesses manipulated the trading and the peso because they did not like Erap? Even when D KING announced his plan the trading in the stock market and the peso fell. What if D KING lost in the election and his handlers succeded in convincing the masses that the only way for D KING to be defeated is by cheating..... I HOPE WE WILL NOT END UP IN CLASS WAR WHERE THE POOR ARE PITTED AGAINST THE RICH. Remember some big businesses and educated middle class then ganged up against Erap, and Erap or his handlers tried to rally the masses naman against the rich. I just hope it will not happen again.

The first thing that we Pinoys can do is PRAY....

second is to believe in ourselves and the capabilities of fellow PINOYS, no more crab mentality....

third is to LOVE our nation... this is the ONLY nation we got.

If you will study war and history.. one way for an aggressor nation or a conquering empire to keep its subject nation poor and begging is to take away the best minds, the intellectuals and put them in exile, better yet make use of them in their own country. I HOPE OUR FELLOW PINOYS WILL NOT LOSE HOPE AND LEAVE THIS BELOVED LAND AND MAKE USE OF THEIR TALENTS AND MINDS FOR ANOTHER COUNTRY. At the moment, nobody is forcing us to leave.. we do it on our own accord because either the Govt. is not doing enough to bring the opportunities here or our conquerors (SPAIN, US, JAPAN) has been successful in making us believe that imported is always better than local, a white skin is better than kayumangi, snow is better than rain, burger is better than tapa, sushi is better than kilawin.

fourthly, If it is not possible to do it in our generation, let us work hard for the next, to educate our kids to be different.. to be the generation who will restore the dignity of our race.. to restore the values that we once have.. to be looked up and envied again the way the Singaporeans, Malaysians and Koreans envied us before...

We need leaders not politicians who will do what is right and not what is popular... who will consider the interest of all Filipinos, specially the future generations.

At the moment, I do not know yet who to vote... One thing I know though, this is my nation and I will not allow it to disintegrate, I will try to be part of the solution rather than the problem... This is the only nation my kids also have... Pinoys may be resilient and can easily adopt to the cultures of other nations... but this is HOME.. you can ask your friends and relatives about it.

1st- class war is inevitable. there are contradictions of interest, contradictins of classes. in the end, the world will be in the hands of the PROLETARIAT.

3. we need an ideology that will bind us pinoy.

@kap,

you sound like a marxist! and that ideology has been proved to be wrong. look at the soviet union... ooops! wala na pala yun. china, it's a capitalist economy through and through... vietnam, it's trying lure back capitalist as we type here... cuba, it's trying to reinvigorate its economy with foreign investors, not just americans ones... the only true marxist state right now is north korea... the people think they are the most fortunate people in the world, because they don't know any better...

"the proletariat will inherit the world"... sounds like mr joma sison in his dreams... i've met some communist and i've actually worked with them... some are good people... it's just that they're following a dead ideology.

there was this author on BBC once... she argued that democracy is a failure in the 3rd world... the voters weren't capable of discerning the merits of their leaders. even the great western democracies were not true democracies when they were developing. the united states only granted the vote to blacks after nearly 100 hundred years of its existence, and to women only in the previous century. maybe the philippines is not mature enough to elect their leaders directly.

(saw and copied this from somewhere...)

Many are saying FPJ has no solid background and experience in governance, neither does he have concrete platform of government in deciding to run for President. They're absolutely WRONG!

Even while in showbiz, 'Da King' has already carved out a niche in terms of addressing pressing issues and nagging problems of the country. Following are concrete thrusts and policies FPJ will most likely adopt

once he becomes (if ever) the country's next Chief Executive:

1. On Criminality and Lawlessness ..........'Batas 45'

2. On Terrorism and Kidnapping..............'Magnum 357'

3. On Justice and Rebellion......................'Sigaw ng Katarungan'

4. On Energy Crisis.................................'Ang Panday' (Parts 1 and 2)

5. On Economy.......................................'Walang Matigas na Tinapay sa

Mainit na Kape'

6. On Family Values and Planning.............'Ang Tatay Kong Siga' / 'Kahit

Konting Pagtingin'

7. On Foreign Policy.................................'Mercenaryo'

8. On Public and Fiscal Administration........'Kapag Puno Na Ang Salop'

9. On Environment...................................'Leon at Tigre' / 'Agila ng

Maynila'

10. On Mindanao Peace and Development..'Pulis Probinsya'

11. Agrarian Reform and Land Distribution..'Iyo Ang Tondo, Akin Ang

Cavite'

12. On Tourism.........................................'Perlas ng Silangan'

@hawkeye- eh sa rural developent? - ANG PROBINSYANO. tapos may part 2 pa! bweeeehehe! pero FPJ parin ako :D sayang lang di ko sya mabo-boto

@rodnav- i cannot say if im a marxist or not. because if i say iam, i would be a pathetic dogmatic one. if i say im not, i would be having a hard time sleeping.

communism is not merely an ideology (actually, hinde nga eh) it's a political system.

and i rather die in a socialist state (there is no such thing as a communist state, not even cuba nor NOKOR) than to live in a capitalist one.

1st- capitalism is already existing more than 400 years. world war 1 and 2 are clear produce of capitalist countries. sa tingin mo pards, mas mahusay ang record ng capitalist states sa socialist states? history will prove me right

2nd- pards, MAIN REASON bakit naghihirap ang cuba at nokor at dahil sa economic embargo ng US and it's puppet allies. same reason bakit pati ang iraq, naghihirap din, also libya etc. the world is ruled by these oppressive countries.

3rd- you've worked with "them" (communist) thats good. so am i.

marxist, leninist, the contributions of mao zedong are definitely not dead nor wrong. tandaan natin na sumibol at lumabas ang kanilang mga ideology sa simula at gitna ng capitalismo sa buong mundo. from that moment, sinabi na nila na "hindi ang capitalismo ang pag-asa ng mundo" datapwat ito pa mismo ang mas magpapahirap sa kalagayan nito)

almost everyone in the entire globe hates the US (policies etc) pero ayaw din nila sa nokor? baket? bakit almost walang diplomatic relations ang pinas sa nokor? may ginawa ba sila sating masama??? or gusto lang ng US?

lastly, di ang socialism ang bumagsak sa former ussr, it's the modern revisionist ang bumagsak. oo nga pala, bakit nga pala bumagsak ang russia? of course dahil din sa US.

by the way pards, do you believe in a classless society? if your a christian, you've better be. si kristo ang unang komunista eh :)

FPJ pa rin pards! :D and dating daan for party list

Roco agreed to run as FPJ's vice president!!!

Ito yung statement ng Roco camp:

"It was a very difficult decision to make. But FPJ is

sincere and pro-poor. Hindi ko tanggap ang panglalait

na "artista lang yan". Ang artista ay may karapatan

ding mamuno ayon sa konstitusyon. I accept the offer

to run as his vice president. Mabuhay ang Da King!"

Bembol Roco

Savor the coming "holidays" for the rest of the year 2003 because next

year, the following public holidays will be forfeited:

1. April 9, Bataan Day falls on Good Friday

2. May 1, Labor Day falls on a Saturday

3. June 12, Independence Day falls on a Saturday

4. August 21, Ninoy Aquino Day falls on a Saturday

5. Christmas Day falls on a Saturday

6. New Year's Day (Jan. 1, 2005) falls on a Saturday

But don't lose hope!

Heard from the grapevine: In the event FPJ wins as president, both the

MANILA FILM FESTIVAL DAYS in June 2004 and the METRO MANILA FILM

FESTIVAL DAYS (10 days) in December 2004 will be declared special non-working holidays to allow ALL FILIPINOS to watch Tagalog films!

Go FPJ!!!
