MPx200 Unlocked! Gnuboy! SmartNES! Problems!! Questions!!!

Hellooo!

(I realise this is kinda an MPx200 specific query so admin move it if you want - I only put it here coz it's more a GnuBoy/SmartNES q than a Mpx one).

Now me lovely MPx is de-certed (Woo! Yay! :lol: ) I've got me Gnuboy and some roms. All appears to run sweet 'cept MPx seems to lack a voice record button.. I know there's something on the jog dial for this but it doesn't seem to do nowt, and it's pretty impossible to reconfig/exit/etc without it. So, am I being dumb and missing a button I actually have? :shock: If not, is it possible to get an MPx version that uses say "*" as the menu key (or would this require Spacemonkey to have an MPx to be able to write for and test on?)?

Also, dunno if the SPVs do this but on SmartNES, holding down a button (e.g. left/right in Mario) triggers the systems repeat key function. This seems to go wayyy to fast for SmartNES and just seems to slow it to a judder ;) . Any way round at all?

Fair enough if none of this can be changed due to the authors not having MPx hardware to test - but it would be oh so nice to be able to play SMB3 and Zelda GBC on the dog.

I've just tried this on my Mpx200. you have to hold the button in as far as it goes for a short while to get it to register. it's definitely much more playable on this phone. good stuff!

yep that's what I'd heard to it's press and hold on that volume rocker thing to get the "voice record"

i dont the mind jog shite a bit it meens you have to play longer. but spacemonkey please be proude ive played a gbc game actual speed. this is fantastic. will let you know how snes compares.

Does anyone knopw how to bring up the gnuboy menu? on the site it says use the "voice record button" but im pretty sure the mpx200 doesnt have one :lol: otherwise I cant get sound!

Yup! Cheers for that - seems to require two things 1) a memo alrady recorded (so it doesn't jump straight to record and therefore not register) and 2) a short, deep jab (...) - some times it needs a couple of goes but yup, it works!

Can't seem to get oracle of seasons to run tho :lol:

yeah, I can't get mr driller to work, it just hangs for ages. then drops out and after that no shortcuts work!

Still the games that work are much improved.

oracle of ages works with the older version of gnubiy, I tried it after the newer one made it hang. thanks for the advice on the voice record button :lol:

That voice record button also activates voice dialing from the main screen but I've not got that to work properly yet.

Anyone tried the snes emulator yet?
