Guest D33 Posted November 26, 2003 Report Posted November 26, 2003 Hi all, There was a point where I was really hyped about the E200 until I came here and started reading bad things. I'm not really interested in any other mobile, especially one's without the MS OS and I don't like flip phones hence why I'm not really considering the MPx200. They just... look ugly to me. I was wondering if someone in the know ( as I'm obviously not ) could list some of the bad points of the E200 so I'd know what to expect if I bought one. From a quick browse all I could find were : [>] Can't play a majority of games because the joypad has devolved. [>] Minor software glitch with answerphone messages. I assume there's many more? :? If the flaws don't really interfere my overall view of the phone then I'll probably go ahead and get it. However, I'd just like to know what is currently wrong with it. On top of that, I was wondering if someone could tell me about the E200 Developer Kit ( I saw the link on here a few days back ). If I got that then what sort of problems would I run into apart from lack of Orange support? The reason why I ask the latter is because I have an original outhere package and it's saved me hundreds. I'd love to be able to use it on the E200.
Guest Brody Posted November 27, 2003 Report Posted November 27, 2003 Can't play a majority of games because the joypad has devolved. Majority? This is a gross over-exageration, its just the diagonal movement that is not possible and we are still not sure whether it will be in the future or not. One of the biggest problems others seem to be complaining about (apart from battery life which has always been a peril of all SPV's) is the buzzing in the earpiece when in a call. I can safely say that my E200 does have a slight buzz with an exphasis on the word slight! It is in no way a problem, i would be hard pushed to complain about it to Orange to be honest. If you were asking me then I would tell you to buy an E200 today! Ps. Welcome to the site
Guest D33 Posted November 27, 2003 Report Posted November 27, 2003 Thanks for the quick reply! I was told by an Orange shop staff member to come here for all the information I could possibly need on mobiles / E200. He was certainly correct  May I ask, what's the deal with the battery life? How long does it last for? ( with bluetooth enabled and without )
Guest D33 Posted November 27, 2003 Report Posted November 27, 2003 One more thing, how easy would it be to get the SPV E200 unlocked ?
Guest Brody Posted November 27, 2003 Report Posted November 27, 2003 The battery needs charging every night in reality but will happily last me throught the day which is all i need. Also bare in mind that when syncing the e200 it is also charging! As for unlocking, do you mean software unlocking or SIM unlocking?
Guest D33 Posted November 27, 2003 Report Posted November 27, 2003 I.. dunno ;( Unlocking it so I could shove in my pay as you go outhere package sim and have no problems or restrictions.
Guest Brody Posted November 27, 2003 Report Posted November 27, 2003 What network is your PAYG SIM? At the moment the E200 can only take Orange SIM cards of both Pay Monthly and PAYG type. Other SIM's will no doubt be compatible in the future when someone finds a hack

Guest D33 Posted November 27, 2003 Report Posted November 27, 2003 Well it's outhere, so orange
