Guest adame Posted November 27, 2003 Report Posted November 27, 2003 Hi there. Yesterday, I sat on my E100 and trashed the screen. The phone still works as bad as it ever did but I am unable to read SMS messages (obviously!). I have searched the phone but I am unable to find the messages. It doesn't matter how dirty the solutions is as long as I can read my sms messages (i.e. copy these files). TIA Adam
Guest b0x Posted November 27, 2003 Report Posted November 27, 2003 This isnt much help to you but i was going to ask the same question about the e200. Nokia had a handy little program called nokia phone browser which copied all your sms's to your pc (and allowed you to reply to them actually). I have a database of my SMS's dating back months now which is quite useful. Something similar for the smartphone platform would be a really good bit of software. jon
Guest roke Posted November 27, 2003 Report Posted November 27, 2003 what you could do, is just install an app which you can use to remote control your spv while in the cradle. this way, you can do evertything with it as you would do it normally. There are several apps available for this...
Guest tomgrek Posted November 27, 2003 Report Posted November 27, 2003 my ancient siemens sl45 could do that too which is why i wrote SMS2Mail which is a quick and dirty program to back up your SMS on to your PC Outlook. Find it here: www.geocities.com/tomgrek hope it helps - bad luck about the screen! tom

I have seen SmartVNC which lets you control your PC from your Smartphone but nothing for the other way around.

Guest frinkiac Posted November 27, 2003 Report Posted November 27, 2003 This won't install on my E200. I get "Microsoft Remote Display Control.CAB failed to install on your device because the installation file is not intended for this device". Does anyone else have it on an E200?
Guest adame Posted November 28, 2003 Report Posted November 28, 2003 Thanks, got it now. I have installed the product but I can remote control. I rebooted the phone but I can't connect. When I run the util on my PC, I get a white screen. Do I have to run a slave on my Smartphone? If so, I am stuffed as I have no screen :-(
