What ROMS can i put on a UK orange SPV 100

i am a complete newbie .. sorry for the stupid question

what roms can i put on an UK orange SP E100

i currently have the orange ROM with the v1.0 bootloader (don't know the version of the rom as i brought the unit with a sim lock still on it and no sim)

i keep hearing about smart rom , qtek and imate etc..

which of these ( if not all /any of them) can i actually install on a uk orange spv 100?

First off do you intend to SIM unlock the phone?

If not then the best advice is to stay with the update version you have 1.5

(which is the latest version for the E100) and then upgrade to 1.6 when it is released.

The Qtek and I-Mate updates will work ok the phone but if you intend to still use Orange back up etc they will not be of use to you as this feature would stop working.

DO NOT attept to update using the SMART update as it will SIM lock your phone to the SMART network.

I do indeed wish to SIM unlock my phone.

I take it i need to downgrade my rom , SIM unlock it and then re-apply version 1.5 to phone.

If i am correct i there a difinitive place i can get a verion of the orange rom that i can sim un-lock and is there also a difnitive place i can get a copy of the 1.5 rom to re-apply it.

looking at the site poeple keep saying to check the orange site but when i got to the orange site i get transferred between web pages bnut never get a download.

has anyone got the files they can give me a link to??

Nope

You can ONLY downgrade the bootloader on the E100 if you try and run the UK update that has the V0.98 bootloader on your phone will stick on the sunset screen.

To downgrade the bootloader you either need to know how to use Winhex and have a copy of the bootloader on your PC or the better option is to have someone copy the bootloader onto an SD card which can then be installed onto the phone.

With the Bootloader you need to have V0.98 or below to be able to SIM unlock the phone.
