I have put these settings together from these 2 sites.

http://www.taniwha.org.uk/gprs.html

http://www.techman.it/config.htm

Let us know if it works for you

Make sure that TIM has activated the internet service (web browsing) on your account.

TIM Italy

Internet service on GPRS network

Create GPRS connection.

Description: TimWebGPRS

Connects to: The Internet

Access point: uni.tim.it

User name: (phone number)

Password: (Tim password)

Primary DNS: 195.120.29.30

Secondary DNS: 0.0.0.0

IP address: (blank)

TIM now has a special username and password system, which works as follows:

1) Select your own 6- to 8-digit password, e.g. 12345678

2) Text the message IBOX 12345678 to SMS number 49000

3) You receive two SMS messages confirming acceptance of the password and creation of your "IBOX"

4) Use the number of your phone (as you would dial it in Italy, i.e. no international prefix) as your username

5) Use your selected password as the password

In data connections make 'Internet Connection: TimWebGPRS'

In Internet Explorer, goto connections and tick 'Automatically detect settings'

WAP service on GPRS network

Create proxy connection

Description: Tim Proxy

Connects from: The Internet

Connects to: WAP network

Proxy (name:port): 213.26.205.1

Type: WAP

Username: blank

Password: blank

Create GPRS connection.

Connects to: The Internet

Access point: wap.tim.it

User name: WAPTIM

Password: WAPTIM

Primary DNS: 0.0.0.0

Secondary DNS: 0.0.0.0

IP address: (blank)

In data connections MAKE 'WAP connection: TimWapGPRS'.

Internet Explorer :

http://(address) to use the Internet Connection

wsp://(address) to use the WAP connection.

MMS setup

Premise: am using an automatic translator since I don't know well the English!

Excuse me for the errors!

I have put all the formulations as you have written me but nothing to be done: he doesn't connect.

Possible that I/you/he/she am the broken telephone? It receives and it perfectly transmits phone calls and sms, but when I try to connect me to internet there is the writing "Connection... " and on the bar of the signal the G comes, but then it stops them to him and after a pò it tells me that it is impossible to connect me.

The connection GPRS is independent from the net GSM? Because I feels like thinking that I/you/he/she am broken something that manages the gprs but not the net gsm. And' Possible?

Thanks

Yes, GPRS is independent of GSM

Do you get the centre G when the phone is switched on ?

Test the WAP connection ( APN wap.tim.it) with wsp://www.google.com/wml

GPRS WAP should work on your SIM.

Test the Internet Connetion (APN uni.tim.it) with http://www.google.com

Call 119 and check that GPRS internet is activated on you account.

Check that the username and password for Internet is correct (SMS to 1900)

Here is some information that might help.

You could try changing the authentication type between PAP/CHAP in Settings - Accessories - Authentication.

Have you tried your SIM in another GPRS phone ?
