Guest Brody Posted November 28, 2003 Report Posted November 28, 2003 Here is Winmine, a version of Minesweeper that came in the Samples of Embedded Visual C++. I can therefore take no credit for this apart from running the compiler but thought that it had to be shared! This game only runs on Windows Mobile 2003 devices such as the E200 and so will not work on the Original SPV or E100 unfortunately. Simply extract the executable and copy it to StorageWindowsStart MenuGames and then run it from your Games folder in your Programs Menu! Enjoy!winmine.gifWinMine.zip
Guest stevewright Posted November 28, 2003 Report Posted November 28, 2003 My SPV original (1.3.5.6) says "An error occured. Unable to open the file. The system returned the error 'Unknown error'! Not very useful response from the OS there!
Guest Brody Posted November 28, 2003 Report Posted November 28, 2003 Hmm, what phone do you have? It may well rely on the .NET framework afterall...
Guest stevewright Posted November 28, 2003 Report Posted November 28, 2003 My SPV original (1.3.5.6)
Guest Brody Posted November 28, 2003 Report Posted November 28, 2003 Hehe, well unfortunately it must be a Windows Mobile 2003 only game then, sorry about the confusion as it definately runs fine on my E200.
Guest stevewright Posted November 28, 2003 Report Posted November 28, 2003 D'oh! In my mind, Minesweeper is like Solitaire: it should be on every Microsoft OS!
Guest Brody Posted November 28, 2003 Report Posted November 28, 2003 Agreed! It is a great way to waste time just like Solitaire!
Guest Vector Posted November 28, 2003 Report Posted November 28, 2003 yup, this will pass the time nicely
Guest Ascii Posted December 2, 2003 Report Posted December 2, 2003 Works fine on my E200. Should pass the time while i am at work mean't to be working.
Guest Brody Posted December 2, 2003 Report Posted December 2, 2003 Works fine on my E200. Should pass the time while i am at work mean't to be working. Welcome to the site  I never liked Minesweeper until i started playing the 2 player version on MSN Messenger 6.
Guest Vector Posted December 31, 2003 Report Posted December 31, 2003 Didnt work on mine either. It probably works on .NET technology, and the original SPV doesn't have .net...
Guest Animefan Posted January 1, 2004 Report Posted January 1, 2004 Cant you make it for the Original SPV and the E100? Pretty Pretty Please Davidrm!? :)
Guest Vector Posted January 2, 2004 Report Posted January 2, 2004 No, because i don't have the faintest clue about C++ or .NET :)
Guest phonesmarts Posted January 6, 2004 Report Posted January 6, 2004 wait...how do i install this? i seem to get a "missing component error"
Guest Brody Posted January 6, 2004 Report Posted January 6, 2004 wait...how do i install this? i seem to get a "missing component error" Its just an exe in a zip. Extract the exe file and copy it to your phone, make sure to shortcut the file to your Start MenuGames folder and your done :)
Guest phonesmarts Posted January 8, 2004 Report Posted January 8, 2004 thanks, but i have a moto mpx, so i guess ill have to wait until a firmware for a SP2002 to 2003 comes out...but, unfortunately, according to your site (msmobiles.com - great site, BTW!), it'll never happen :) Then again, Moto could change their minds (ill cross my fingers)
Guest binky_p Posted January 8, 2004 Report Posted January 8, 2004 could the game "hearts" be also included and could it be fixed too on old SPVs...i really like wasting my time playing minesweeper and hearts...tnx m8
Guest peekie Posted January 20, 2004 Report Posted January 20, 2004 it has sounds in the options but i dont get a wink on my phone will this be on the next version as there is nothing more awakening than the bang in minesweeper
Guest wilky Posted January 23, 2004 Report Posted January 23, 2004 works fine on my original spv no probs however I still stink at the game...
Guest Brody Posted January 26, 2004 Report Posted January 26, 2004 thanks, but i have a moto mpx, so i guess ill have to wait until a firmware for a SP2002 to 2003 comes out...but, unfortunately, according to your site (msmobiles.com - great site, BTW!), it'll never happen  Then again, Moto could change their minds (ill cross my fingers) Correction, www.MSMobileNews.com, not msmobiles.com!
