Guest Paul [MVP] Posted November 28, 2003 Report Posted November 28, 2003 That's right, the first Smartphone IRC client is on it's way! SmartIRC beta 1, developed by French Smartphone developer My_Keul, is to be released any day now. The software is to be priced at 1 Euro, and will be available from http://smartirc.jexiste.fr/. Screenshots are included below. The application shows promise - I hope an English version will be available, and I hope the space is used a little more sensibly than it appears in the screenshots! P
Guest mattscholey Posted November 28, 2003 Report Posted November 28, 2003 Just got to comment on the price of this software: 1 Euro. I think this price is great, as it is perfectly within reach of anyone who wants the software, whilst also giving the developer a well-earnt reward for their efforts. Some prices on Handango can be between $15-$20, and IMO this is a rip-off, but a 1 Euro price is very fair, for both the developer and the customer. Also sounds like a great app, for those who chat on the net. Matt
Guest nickcornaglia Posted November 28, 2003 Report Posted November 28, 2003 Now I can get yelled at on MoDaCo Chat...on the run!
Guest midnight Posted November 28, 2003 Report Posted November 28, 2003 definitely needs moving to full screen  and perhaps split screen mode while in a pm? (so you can still keep track of the main channel conversation)
Guest spacecowboy6982 Posted November 29, 2003 Report Posted November 29, 2003 Fantastic news ! Just what the E-200 (and SPV's) needed to kickstart it in the right direction  Sometimes IRC can be a bit fast and hectic, specially on a small screen - what woul dhelp matters if this is the case with SmartIRC :?: Fast scrolling :?: spacecowboy

Guest DiGiTaL iNSaNiTY Posted December 22, 2003 Report Posted December 22, 2003 Has anyone managed to get onto IRC using this App ? Perhaps just Orange UK blocking the ports :)
Guest nickcornaglia Posted December 27, 2003 Report Posted December 27, 2003 Still not working for me. Wasnt there an update to the original? I can't seem to find the download.
Guest Hax Posted December 27, 2003 Report Posted December 27, 2003 Just the other night, I went through the process of calling the premium rate number, entered it and my e-mail address where required, but then nothing happened - no download, no follow-up e-mail, nothing - most disappointing..... Is this still a genuine and available piece of software - or is the site still live just to con people like myself out of their hard-earned dosh (ok, I admit that £1.50 isn't much, but it's the principle) Hax Posted from my SmartPhone!
Guest swbuehler Posted February 24, 2004 Report Posted February 24, 2004 Just the other night, I went through the process of calling the premium rate number, entered it and my e-mail address where required, but then nothing happened - no download, no follow-up e-mail, nothing - most disappointing..... Is this still a genuine and available piece of software - or is the site still live just to con people like myself out of their hard-earned dosh (ok, I admit that £1.50 isn't much, but it's the principle) The allopass numbers don't even work from my phone, and the author has not responded to any email messages. Apparently he is now offerring to release the source. Does ANYONE have a copy of this that works? I can't seem to get it (even paying!).
Guest Pulse Posted February 25, 2004 Report Posted February 25, 2004 It needs to get rid of the bloatyness, and make it simple, like the real irc is.
