Speakerphone Profile (again)

I know this has been mentioned a few times (and I've just read through the search results to see the latest) - seems the Speakerphone profile on the new E200 behaves in the same way to the lowly SPV.

Anyway, I've been searching for a way to set the SPV into 'Speakerphone' mode permanently for use in the car (I find pressing the green button once to answer the call, then releasing it, then press and holding it again to activate 'speakerphone' unreliable at best).

What I've discovered is the 'speakerphone' profile in the profiles list is NOT the same as the 'speakerphone' you get when you press and hold the green key.

I've proved this by hacking the registry - there is an option in there that is under profiles, speakerphone, and it has a key that is called something like 'prevent enable' which is set to a large number - if you reset this to zero then you can select the 'speakerphone' profile form the profiles menu. However, when you make / receive calls like this you still don't get the full 'speakerphone' use (i.e. you still have to press and hold the green button to activate the 'volume boost').

So..... Does anybody know what this speakerphone profile is meant to be for ??

and more to the point, is there anyway anyone can think of a way to get the SPV to work as a 'proper' handsfree speakerphone.

(I'm think that moving over to the new Sony P900 may be my next option, as at least that activates it's speakerphone by simply flipping open the keyboard flap, which will be much easier to do in the car)

Any ideas anyone ??? :?:
