Guest wahblow Posted December 17, 2002 Report Posted December 17, 2002 How do open a chat session in MSN? My option is always greyed out.
Guest Paul [MVP] Posted December 17, 2002 Report Posted December 17, 2002 Just click on the contact you want to talk to :D P
Guest wahblow Posted December 18, 2002 Report Posted December 18, 2002 What if you want a genral chat in a chat room not an IM to a contact
Guest Paul [MVP] Posted December 18, 2002 Report Posted December 18, 2002 There are no 'general chat rooms' - you have to speak to a contact. It's an IM client - hence IM! Are you looking for an IRC client perchance? P
Guest wahblow Posted December 18, 2002 Report Posted December 18, 2002 I was under the impression that as on the PC you could go into chat rooms send IMs to people in chart rooms
Guest Paul [MVP] Posted December 18, 2002 Report Posted December 18, 2002 You can't do that on MSN Messenger on the PC! P
Guest zenabi Posted December 18, 2002 Report Posted December 18, 2002 You can't do that on MSN Messenger on the PC! I believe in the latest version on the PC you can, but I haven't tried it and I can't check now cos I'm at work. I will confirm tonight. Regarding the SPV, you can invite people to join one of your chats, but there is no facility to search and join chat rooms like IRC.
Guest zenabi Posted December 18, 2002 Report Posted December 18, 2002 Okay, MSN Messenger version 5 does have an option for chat rooms, but a plugin needs to be installed. It didn't install on my PC correctly so I didn't actually get to try it, but I'm guessing it's web-based.
