hi all,

i currently have an orange spv (original model) and i think its time for a change, just wondering if any1 can tell me which fone is best to go for (i aint been tracking much smartphone news over the last few months, a little outta touch).

i NEED and internal camera (preferably video recorder) i would like a FAST fone, the original spv was just TOO slow for me (hence me fallin outta contact with the smartphone world).clamshell would be preferable, as i have a phobia of scratching the screen - my old sl45i scarred me for life, the scratch on the screen almost drove me insane. java support would be preferable, and i am not bothered about the os really, althout 2003 would be a good bonus.

basically, i am stuck between the spv e200 and the 8380 (possibly 8390, whens that out anyway??). i am slightly more toward the 8380 cos i can get a brand new one shipped to the uk (factory unlocked) for a tiny £345, any1 want details, just say(perfectly legit!!).

any opinions would be welcome, perhaps someone with a 8380 could post a video takin on the fone (this could be the deciding factor!)

thanks all, great community here

Dave

(edited for typos, i h8 em  )

With the spec. you've given its got to be the SPV E-200. It has an integrated camera, bluetooth functionality, Windows Mobile 2003 AND its bloody fast. It has a few bugs but nothing an update wont sort. A minus point however. The battery life is pathetic. 10 hours average

Im guessing you also talk about the Mitac Mio 8390 :?: Im sorry, dont know enought about them to give you any details but I am extremly impressed with the E-200. A great improvment on the SPV

Another option is depending on how desperate you are to upgrade,

is to wait a while for the Motorola MPX220 (if you like clam shell style phones)

This is supposed to be released early next year.
