Guest jscotl Posted November 29, 2003 Report Posted November 29, 2003 Outlook formats Tel No.s in the following format: +44 (0123) 111 1234 Once sync'ed to the E200, this format does not work - I get a dead tone when dialled. You need to remove either of the following: - the brackets + the leading 0 from the area code - Leading 0 within the brackets - or the Country code +44 I thought that Outlook 2002 & the fone were now supposed to be fully compatible, but easy to resolve :!:
Guest shadamehr Posted November 30, 2003 Report Posted November 30, 2003 AFAIK, the proper format for Outlook to bring the entries over correct is: +44 1914123456 (Newcastle number 0191 412 3456 - so you drop the leading 0) A mobile number would be like: +44 7899123456 (for the number 07899 123 456) Note, that in my Outlook, you can and DO have a gap between the +44 and the rest of the number, but I suspect this is not compulsory. It DOES make it easier to read though, both in Outlook and the phone. If you are careful how you execute it, doing a search and replace in Outlook should be able to easily fix how your numbers look. Can't comment on compatibility like you mention though as this is my first SPV.

The bit about removing the +44 and it works... This MAY be because in the phone itself, buried away somewhere I cant find now, is the option to tell the phone what your specific country code is, and by default, at least on mine, this was BLANK on a UK phone. So I didn't want to risk messing my working numbers up by seeing what it did if I added it...
