T9 mode by default? GPRS usage?

I've just got my SPV E200, having always had nokia phones before. Unfortunately it buzzes so I'll be getting it replaced hopefully this week, but that's another issue.

Is there a way to set the phone so that it uses T9 text input mode by default? I know i can set it to use T9 by pressing the * key but it's annoying to do this on every text field I wish to use.

Also, is there a way to see how much GPRS usage there has been so far? My old Nokia 7650 had a screen which showed you how many MBs had been used since you last reset the counter.
