Guest SaudK Posted November 30, 2003 Report Posted November 30, 2003 Having used both devices - I have come to the conclusion that the Handspring Treo 600 is the best phone available on the market today....No doubt there will be those who do not agree....But you have to use it before passing judgement....
Guest spacecowboy6982 Posted November 30, 2003 Report Posted November 30, 2003 Like most things yes. Depends what type of person you are though. Personally I wouldnt be seen dead with the Treo, even if it is the worlds greatest phone - but saying that, its more of a PDA/pocketPC than a phone, wouldn't you agree ? For usability, the E-200 works wonders for me. I just didnt like the "feel" of it. On the plus side its runs emulators at great speeds which would suit me down to the ground :!: spacecowboy
Guest morpheus2702 Posted November 30, 2003 Report Posted November 30, 2003 If it wasn't for the fact it is running Palm OS, I'd jump at the Treo...
Guest SaudK Posted December 1, 2003 Report Posted December 1, 2003 spacecowboy6982: but saying that, its more of a PDA/pocketPC than a phone, wouldn't you agree You may be surprised to hear but it functions superbly as a telephone and a PDA. Having said that - the thing they missed out was profiles which can be a bit of a bummer at times!
Guest spacecowboy6982 Posted December 1, 2003 Report Posted December 1, 2003 Sure, but if it incorporates everything else then fantastic :!: Just a sham eits not a bit more shapely and that it doesnt run Windows Mobile
Guest xanadu Posted December 1, 2003 Report Posted December 1, 2003 I looked at the Treo 600 at my local Orange shop. I would have gone for it, but the numerical keypad was just too small, and you would have to have fingers like McDonalds french fries to use it. The SPV E200 seemed like a nice phone, but I wanted a break from SPV's after all the problems I have had with the original model. I considered the Nokia 6600, but have heard that is very slow in some menus, and problems with PC synchronisation, also the release date has been delayed. I need a good phone mainly for business use, and have decided to get a Motorola V500 in January. The V500 has a brilliant display, much better than any other phone I have seen. It has bluetooth, email, polyphonic, feels good to hold, and most important for me it will store up to 1000 contacts.
Guest morpheus2702 Posted December 1, 2003 Report Posted December 1, 2003 That's as maybe, but its not a smartphone, is it? Sure, if I was looking for the latest spec. usual phone, that'd be great. But as it stands, I'd never turn back now.
Guest xanadu Posted December 1, 2003 Report Posted December 1, 2003 Maybe in another 12 months I will go back to SPV. But hey !! 3G starts in 2004, and I will be busy making it work for all you future Orange 3G subscribers. Maybe after the V500, I will have a 3G Orange phone.
Guest morpheus2702 Posted December 1, 2003 Report Posted December 1, 2003 Dunno, by then the SPV will have a 2-way joystick
