Hi all,

Bearing in mind the new law on the use of phones whilst driving, I am looking to get a Bluetooth headset (that works :wink:)

If anyone has any (positive or negative) experience of any of the following devices, please post:

(Just got off the phone to Orange Accessories): They recommend the Plantronics M3000, but they say "testing has not been completed yet" :shock:

I guess I shouldn't be too concerned with things like battery life (of the headset) and style/looks, but I would appreciate comments about this too!

My experience with the Motorola HS810 was not good. It seemed very temperamental, sometimes it would pair with the phone, sometimes not. Sometimes it would pickup a call, cometimes not. Also, it's got a funny pulsating blue light on the side of it which, depending on your point of view, is either very cool or a bit silly. My girlfriend thought it was hilarious.

I swapped it for the Plantronics M3000 over the weekend which seems much more reliable.

Have to agree about the HS810 from Motorola (there are a few topics about it) its seems to pair randomly - sometimes fifteen seconds into a call ! Voice quality was excellent though.

At nightime in the car you look very very funny with the blue lights flashing - why on earth did they put it there its completely unsubtle.

Dhood can you tell me if its worth me going back to orange for the plantronics one ?

Yes, I reckon so. It was the only model they had in the Orange shop I went back to so there may be a better choice out there. On the plus side, it has 8 hours talk time and 200 hours standby, on the minus side it's probably a few grams heavier and maybe not quite as comfortable as the HS810. It does work much more reliably though which is the main thing.

Voice quality seems very good to me. I actually had a bit of a buzzing with the HS810 but that's completely gone with the M3000.

Occasionally there is a slight delay before the headset links with the phone when you're making a call or a call comes in but it's generally immediate. It's certainly much better than the HS810 in this regard. Oh, and the range is noticeably better too. With the M3000 I can stand on the other side of the room and it still sounds okay. Whereas the HS810 started to crackle if I sat back in my chair!

the Jabra BT200 has no pairing problems or delays in my experience. Although the range can be pretty poor at time. The battery life is great tho.

Battery life is a must when you're dealin with the E-200 in my case. Jabra it is, unless someone can persuade me not to :roll: ?

SpaceCowboy - I understand that the plantronics has 8 hr talk and 200 standby. Thats enough for one charge every four or five e200 charges

I have the Plantronics M3000, which I have had no problems with so far.

The Orange Shop have this for half price with the vouchers from the "Christmas Gift Box", which is about £45. Or this months O magazine had an offer for £49.99 from Orange direct.

hmm I have been pondering on this one for a while. I have an e100 and i'm thinking of getting a e200 in january when my contract finishes (well, not if i read any more reports about apalling battery life!!) and quite fancy one of these jabra bluetooth jobbies. If i get the bt200 with the base thingy for my e100 will it work without the base with the e200??? or do i need to buy a new one perhaps... anyone know? :?

Well I have just bought a Nokia HDW-2 Headset and can I get it to work....

Anyones help would be greatly appreciated as I cannot get the phone to recognise it, In fact the only way I can get the phone to recognise anything Bluetoooth is by using the other devices bluetooth functions .

I have the old HBH-30 and it works really well with it, easy to pair and very good call quality.

No voice dial, but you have push to answer/end calls

This was also discussed in another thread but it might be useful here too.

I got a Jabra BT-250 but it worked very poor with the E-200. Pairing worked (only for the Headset profile, not for Handsfree that the Jabra also supports) but the range was only about half a metre and there was a lot of noise when I moved my head. Also there was a delay of several seconds when accepting a call through the headset button, which caused me to miss calls. It worked, but just not the way it should.

At first I thought this was normal until I spoke to a collegue who bought another headset for his E-200, and it turned out he could go almost 10 meters away from the phone. Somehow the combination E-200 and Jabra does not work very well, as both can do much better when paired with another headset/phone.

I returned the Jabra and got a SonyEricsson HBH-65 and everything is much better. I can go over 6 meters away from the phone without any noise, and picking up a call through the headset button is instantaneous. The HBH-65 has shorter battery life (3 days) compared to the Jabra (a whole week) but it is lighter and easier to put on your ear.

My conclusions:

- SonyEricsson HBH-65: works well

- Jabra BT-250: not recommended

I used to have a Jabra 200. This worked ok with my E200! (It also worked perfect even better than the E200 with a Nokia N-Gage). But as i lost it i got a new motorola (HSW8000) headset and as i noticed it is on your list (the one discontinued from expansys).Is far better than the jabra 200. And i am very happy that got it for only 40GBP a real bargain. I think is on of the best sets.

I have bought sonyericsson HBH-200.

It works quite well,without distance problems,but i have a small problem

When someone calls my phone rings one time,then the headset rings,i press the answer key once,then it rings one more time and then it answers the call

As you can imagine,the caller has to wait for five beeps before i can answer

Is there a way to eliminate this problem?

the phone sees the headset, but the paring got wrong. With my old t68i it works perfect.

Hi all,

I have a qtek 8080 and a nextlink bluespoon chameleon.

Pairing works great and there are no delays.

Only a strange but that also happened on my other headset the nokia hdw-2:

the first call i make/recieve after turning the headset on goes great but people can't hear me. The next calls work normaly.

The range is very low but it's a phone problem, not the headset.
