Guest nickcornaglia Posted December 2, 2003 Report Posted December 2, 2003 Just watched his special on HBO again last night. He kills me.
Guest Coucou Posted December 2, 2003 Report Posted December 2, 2003 i'm off to see him live at the MEN Arena in Manchester soon. Posted from my SmartPhone!
Guest moo_ski_doo Posted December 2, 2003 Report Posted December 2, 2003 I saw him in Nottingham last Thursday, absolutely fantastic, Coucou you're in for a treat
Guest Coucou Posted December 2, 2003 Report Posted December 2, 2003 Can't wait  Manchester date's on the 15th. This is probably of no interest to anyone but I worked out last night that we'll be sitting in almost the same seats in the arena as we sat in a couple of weeks ago for the stereophonics gig. What's the chances of that in a 15,000 seat arena :?
Guest PsychoDave Posted December 5, 2003 Report Posted December 5, 2003 I'm off to see him next friday (12th I think) in Glasgow. Been lookin forward to it for ages...gonna be class. Hope he's still got his inflatable boobs with him
Guest Gibbo Posted December 6, 2003 Report Posted December 6, 2003 I saw him a couple of years ago in London. Absolutely hilarious, he has that skill that Billy Connoly has of always appearing to be making it up as he goes along, as if he's never quite sure what he's going to say next. Paul.
Guest Coucou Posted December 7, 2003 Report Posted December 7, 2003 I got the circle tour video, it's got footage from a usa show and a france show. it becomes more obvious that he does prepare a lot of his stuff but he has no pre-defined order. I think he gives the impression of being 100% impro but really he's more like 70% prepared and the rest is genuine impro. Not that it makes him any less funny  Posted from my SmartPhone!
Guest nickcornaglia Posted December 7, 2003 Report Posted December 7, 2003 I wanted to go see him in NY this past year to see him play Lenny Bruce in a play. I wonder how that was?! The only time I ever saw him was Dressed To Kill on HBO. I find myself stopping to watch it everytime it's on. I think I need to buy a few of his DVDs.
Guest moo_ski_doo Posted December 7, 2003 Report Posted December 7, 2003 I've got a few of his vids/DVDs, they're all superb. Dress To Kill is definately the best so far tho
Guest PsychoDave Posted December 7, 2003 Report Posted December 7, 2003 Alcatraz.... Soldiers in Fantastic Make-up... Drilling Cats... I can't feckin wait :D :) P.S. Encece Everything I've seen Eddie in that wasn't comedy based always seemed to let me down. Something about him just leaves you waiting for the punchline and thats not a good thing when you are watching a Serious drama. Might be just me though
Guest nickcornaglia Posted December 7, 2003 Report Posted December 7, 2003 I would think the same thing but since Lenny Bruce (pretty funny and outrageous in his time,...for the youngins) was a stand-up comedian...I thought it would be a good mix of both. I could see how Izzard may be type cast as Izzard. You dont want to see him playing someone else...you want to see him do him.
Guest SeeJ Posted December 10, 2003 Report Posted December 10, 2003 I'm off to see him next friday (12th I think) in Glasgow. Been lookin forward to it for ages...gonna be class. Hope he's still got his inflatable boobs with him  Hey, I'm going to see him in Glasgow too - see you there!! of course :D Its got a thing on the back that looks like a monster, but NO - its Alcatraz. Where r u from psychodave? I'm from Glasgow, but I live in Edinburgh...
Guest SirGaz Posted December 11, 2003 Report Posted December 11, 2003 Just saw him last night in Sheffield. Really funny, the guy is a genius.
Guest Coucou Posted December 11, 2003 Report Posted December 11, 2003 Does he have a support act? just want to figure out what time to arrive on monday.
Guest SirGaz Posted December 11, 2003 Report Posted December 11, 2003 Nope, but he did start 20 minutes late. There's an interval (wierd for a comedian) and he was 10 minutes late restarting after that as well.
Guest statscat Posted December 11, 2003 Report Posted December 11, 2003 bless he does have to patch up his lippy and mascara .... but then I guess only us girls appreciate that
Guest SirGaz Posted December 11, 2003 Report Posted December 11, 2003 Actually, last night he wore a mini skirt and false breasts in the first half, and a long skirt with a HUGE slit up the side in the second part, again with false breasts.
Guest moo_ski_doo Posted December 11, 2003 Report Posted December 11, 2003 Nope, but he did start 20 minutes late. There's an interval (wierd for a comedian) and he was 10 minutes late restarting after that as well. Hmm... funny that, he was 10 minutes late coming back from the interval when I saw him too. Did he say he was late cus someone had stolen his clothes?
Guest SirGaz Posted December 12, 2003 Report Posted December 12, 2003 Hmm... funny that, he was 10 minutes late coming back from the interval when I saw him too. Did he say he was late cus someone had stolen his clothes? Yep :?
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted December 12, 2003 Report Posted December 12, 2003 That spoilt it for you now  I play his tapes in the car (when my daughter is not there) still need it on dvd though as the StarTrek phaser settings need to be seen to be apreciated.
Guest SeeJ Posted December 13, 2003 Report Posted December 13, 2003 Just saw him last night in Glasgow. Hilarious! I laughed so much my cheeks hurt! The neanderthals bit was best...
Guest PsychoDave Posted December 15, 2003 Report Posted December 15, 2003 Just comin round after a blazin weekend :) :D Eddie was brilliant! First half was good but the second half (after his 30 interval  ) was so funny I was near wettin' myself. If only flies could do Gregorian chants then they would be a lot more popular. :D @SeeJ Sorry I just saw your post. Coulda met up but I was in no state to talk after the show. First night out without the little un so I was makin up for lost time
Guest Coucou Posted December 17, 2003 Report Posted December 17, 2003 Excellent show  Someone heckled him after about 10 seconds! He was explaining how he thought the arena was quite small and a bit like his living room and someone tried to be clever and explain that it's not really. Why do I pick the show when pillocks go?
Guest moo_ski_doo Posted December 17, 2003 Report Posted December 17, 2003 A comedy gig's not a comedy gig without a bit of heckling  A few people tried it at the one I went to but the place was far too big for him to hear them.
Guest skyrine Posted December 17, 2003 Report Posted December 17, 2003 Saw him last night (16th) here in Cardiff. Fantastic. Getting the rich to hunt flies.. as sureal as ever... Pure genius. ------------------ "There was going to ba moral, but i am dyslexic, so it is a marble"
