Guest NeilC_MVP Posted December 2, 2003 Report Posted December 2, 2003 It is with great pleasure that I announce the opening of the OpenNETCF Smart Device Framework Beta Program. The Smart Device Framework is an application framework which enriches and extends the .NET Compact Framework. There are a lot of new class libraries and controls in there and I'm very excited about it. Also contained in the Smart Device Framework are all the existing class libraries and controls available from www.opennetcf.org. By providing a unified framework, we at OpenNETCF.org are seeking to improve the overall development experience using the components that we supply. Some of the highlights in this beta release are: 10+ Windows Forms controls for Windows CE, Pocket PC, and Smartphone, including a ColorDialog, Signature control, and owner-drawn listbox Wrappers for common Win32 API functions Many new class libraries, including: XmlSerializer, MarshalEx, ConfigurationSettings, FileSystemWatcher, ConnectionManager, Notification Integration into Visual Studio .NET to deliver a similar development to the .NET Compact Framework. If you are interesting in beta testing the Smart Device Framework, please complete our nomination survey at http://beta.opennetcf.org/register.aspx If you have any questions regarding this beta program, please email [email protected] with your queries.
