Guest allandean Posted December 2, 2003 Report Posted December 2, 2003 Sorry if this is a dumb newbie question (only got my '200 today), but I've serached this forum and the manual and got no luck. My phone is currently in its cradle, connected in ActiveSync and syncing nicely with my Exchange server. Except that every time it tries to sync I get a message saying "unable to connect to you default connection, do you want to try passthru connection instead", which is annoying. More annoying is that Messenger and IE insist on dialling GPRS, even though there's a perfectly good passthru connection to use. How do I make the ActiveSync connection take precedence over GPRS? All of my settings, as far as I can tell, are as they were when the phone came out of the Orange box. Allan
Guest Bonzo Posted December 2, 2003 Report Posted December 2, 2003 The way to do it & get it to use the pass thru setting automatically is go to Settings/Data Connections and change the Internet Connection spinner to Automatic... then it should use the pass thru function when in the cradle and GPRS when it is not... BUT... check the post from myself in this forum about a potential GPRS problem U are in the UK using Orange as it describes a poitential bug to using this...Check it out here
Guest allandean Posted December 3, 2003 Report Posted December 3, 2003 Thanks. That setting is the fella. And thanks for the heads-up on the "automatic" bug - looks like I'll be fiddling with that setting on a regular basis. A
