Guest Exodia Posted December 3, 2003 Report Posted December 3, 2003 Hello all. Ive been visiting modaco quite often for the past few weeks and i have finally come out of hiding to pass on this find. Celluloco.com has the MPx200 camera attachment for sale and yes, they ship worldwide. http://www.celluloco.com/products/customer...=163&cat=&page=
Guest lukeyboy Posted December 3, 2003 Report Posted December 3, 2003 $140 - now thats what I call an expensive clip on camera! What a shame. I find the camera on my old SPV useful enough to warrent the need for one on any new phone. E200 here I come   Good spot though ex
Guest lukeyboy Posted December 3, 2003 Report Posted December 3, 2003 Haha, just noticed that on their currency convertor thing the price is 139 US Dollars = 232.12 British Pounds. Haha, someone should explain to them how exchange rates work. Its really about 80 quid if anyone is interested which is a heck of a lot for a .5 megapixel camera. Doesn't say how many photos or how long movies last for. Would really like to see this info. Presuming it just transfers to phones internal memory - i.e. not a lot of space.

Presuming it just transfers to phones internal memory - i.e. not a lot of space. They won't list these figures, as they not part of the camera specification. As you say, these values will depend on the storage you have available on the phone. Ok, so by default there isn't a hell of a lot of storage available, but the MPx does have a SD card slot, which can take cards up to 1GB (not a hard limit from what I understand). With the addition of an SD card you would have pleantly of storage for photos or videos. I agree that £80 does seem a heck of a lot for a clip on camera though. I would hope that this will come down when they are more widespread.
Guest alphaflux Posted December 3, 2003 Report Posted December 3, 2003 Hmm, let me re-think this one ! :? The camera is an SD card slot camera, which would mean that your original statement that the phone doesn't have a lot of storage available would hold true. Sorry about that. My only hope is that the camera itelf has an SD card slot. i.e. plug the camera into the phone and the SD card into the camera. Does anyone know whether the camera will hold the SD card ? I've not been able to find any information which says either way. If it doesn't support that, and then this is pretty darn useless !
Guest [email protected] Posted December 3, 2003 Report Posted December 3, 2003 Wow, that would be cool! Great idea alphaflux. My mind only got as far as on-board memory.

Looking at the photo, it appears that there is no way that it will hold the SD card. I'm imagining that it has some sort of on board memory, but again I would have expected that to be listed. If it is relying solely on the phones internal capacity you're looking at 15mb max (if you thought the mpx200 didn't crawl fill that up and find out!) which is absolutely nothing. What a pain to keep having to take out your SD Card, plug in camera, take some snaps, take out camera, plug in SD card, Cut and paste photos from phone to SD card and then repeat process. Can't imagine it would handly the video recording for a long time either. Any rich MPX200 modaco fans out there wanna order one and write a review  8)
