Guest sganatra Posted December 3, 2003 Report Posted December 3, 2003 Any1 know if it works with MPx200???
Guest alphaflux Posted December 3, 2003 Report Posted December 3, 2003 MPx200 doesn't have bluetooth, so no, afraid not.
Guest sganatra Posted December 3, 2003 Report Posted December 3, 2003 I meant the one for the original SPV. http://www.coolsmartphone.com/index.php?op...ticle&artid=123
Guest Shuflie Posted December 3, 2003 Report Posted December 3, 2003 Should do but I'd check before buying, the SPV headphone socket is wired differently from the MPx200, this may actually be a good thing since you could be able to answer and end calls with the Jabra headset as the MPx200 headset supports this unlike the SPV one. What would be really nice would be if someone could make the button on the headset actually launch voice tags or fonix voice dial when not in a call, but that's probably asking too much.

I assume you guys are talking about the 2.5mm adapter for the BT headset & the Jabra? I have that and it works fine with the MPx200. You can set the buttons on the Jabra (or other BT headset to pair with the adapter) to answer calls when they come in and hang up calls, but alas...no Fonix activate or voice tag activation that I have found yet, that would be a killler app, but I think the problem is with the Jabra adapter not being the BT "handsfree" profile, but the "headset" profile which is why that can't be done. That's my guess.
Guest sganatra Posted December 4, 2003 Report Posted December 4, 2003 The thing is that i have an original SPV and my upgrade is due. The MPx200 looks good but i wanna be able to use a BT headset in the car. With all the battery problems on the E-200 i have heard about, i wanna stay away. Is this a good solution???
Guest Sp3ctre Posted December 4, 2003 Report Posted December 4, 2003 oooh... sounding better by the minute!
Guest Shuflie Posted December 4, 2003 Report Posted December 4, 2003 Should be, you can even use the headset by itself if you ever change to a BT enabled phone in the future. You should probably buy a phone holder for the car to keep yourself legal when you want to make a call though.
Guest PDAZealot Posted December 5, 2003 Report Posted December 5, 2003 I have a Jabra BT200 headset that I use daily with the mpx200. Works great, just needs the adaptor that plugs into the 2.5mm plug on the mpx200, a la the original spv w/o bluetooth. I've seen sites that say it doesn't work. That's a shame, especially since I use it daily. :-)
Guest sganatra Posted December 12, 2003 Report Posted December 12, 2003 No worries, just ordered a p900 Cant wait to get it! Sorry for sellin all y'all out Smartphone peeps! This is emotional!

Guest PDAZealot Posted December 15, 2003 Report Posted December 15, 2003 Yep, that's what I have. With the dorky FreeSpeak BT adaptor that hangs off the 2.5mm headphones input plug. I feel like a loser sometimes having that connected, but it's great for driving and talking handsfree. Still, I can't wait for BT in the MPx220 so I can drop the stupid attachment.
Guest grossygrossy Posted December 15, 2003 Report Posted December 15, 2003 Rumor has it that Feb 2004 the MPX300 will be out with BT and camara.
Guest PDAZealot Posted December 15, 2003 Report Posted December 15, 2003 Grossy, Actually, the rumor is that the MPx220 will be released, not the 300. Also, the upgrade for the MPx200 to Smartphone 2003 from 2002 is slated to be released in Feb/March 2004, but the MPx220 will likely not be seen till midyear 2004. June is the month given, but release dates are notorious for being delayed. FYI....
Guest grossygrossy Posted December 16, 2003 Report Posted December 16, 2003 Thanks for the corrected info!
