SPAM on email address used by coolsmartphone.com

Anyone else noticed junk email coming to the email address they supplied to coolsmartphone.com?

I got one today titled "Headline NEWS - Cosmetic Technology Break-Through"... not of much interest to us blokes really.

I use different email addresses for every site I use, so I know the address "coolsmartphone@...." was only ever given to them. I've emailed them asking who they've given the address to, but I doubt it's salvagable now its in circulation.

Anyone else had this, or is it just some bizarre coincidence?

It's not a major issue, but just recently I'd cut out 99% of the spam I was getting. Didn't expect it from these sort of sites.

I use the same system as you and havent noticed anyspam coming to my address. I'll keep my eyes open!

interesting. ive not had spam in months so i couldnt coment - however i didnt know coolsmatphone did that sort of thing :?: Ask if you can be taken off their mailing list :?:

I've started getting a few bits of spam too, but I only use one e-mail address so I wasn't sure where it was coming from.

I got this reply from Gears at coolsmartphone....

I NEVER distribute ANY email addresses and NEVER intend to, It is

something I absolutely 100% HATE and all addresses are kept safely in

one place and one place only!

I believe him, and I can't be absolutely certain that the address didn't get picked up from somewhere else, so I don't want to this to tarnish Gears's reputation.

The matter is closed as far as I'm concerned.
