I recently got hold of an MPx200 for myself, and after unlocking the phone, the Media Player doesn't work anymore. When I try to run it, the Title bar briefly displays 'Windows Media' and then returns you to the menu screen.

Does anyone know how I solve this problem as I really want to use the Media Player to listen to mp3's

You could check your homescreen timeout - it may be set to a few seconds

Thanks for the link, I'll save this for next time ;-) In the end I managed to sort it out by doing a hard reset, a bit excessive I know, but it worked.

I had this happen to me and the only thing I could think of was the fact that I had installed a skin (Smartphone XP - very nice) and uninstalled it some time later. The reason I think it was down to this is that last week I installed Longhorn M5 skin  and media player is back working again.

yea'.. the problem is skins.. Some "Big" skins are also skinning the media player, and if you fail to uninstall the skin like you're spose to, the player wont launch, the 'reset cab' should solve it quickly though..

I think you're right about the skins, I remember now that I had this problem after installing and uninstalling a skin on the phone.
