Guest lifesuk Posted December 4, 2003 Report Posted December 4, 2003 anyone knows any ideas? anything only used on e200 or only used on xphone? any disadvantages on xphone? what about upgrade? guys u can upgrade e200 by orange, how about xphone :?
Guest Brody Posted December 4, 2003 Report Posted December 4, 2003 Not to sure on this one as the XPhone hasn't been released in the UK atm. It is obviously the same hardware from HTC but the software will be different as is the case with all operators adding their own bits and pieces. Not much more I can tell you atm i'm afraid.
Guest Richie M Posted December 5, 2003 Report Posted December 5, 2003 what about upgrade? guys u can upgrade e200 by orange, how about xphone :? No, because E200 is only available on Orange and Xphone will only be available on O2. If you meant; can you upgrade your current O2 phone to a O2 Xphone? that would be a, yes when its released
Guest pyke Posted December 6, 2003 Report Posted December 6, 2003 the rom of the xphone is 64mb.while the e200 to be issued by SMART Communications here in the philippines has 32mb only.
Guest sabio_proeliat Posted December 6, 2003 Report Posted December 6, 2003 What about the rom on qtek 8080? Any other differences ?
Guest Vector Posted December 6, 2003 Report Posted December 6, 2003 the rom of the xphone is 64mb.while the e200 to be issued by SMART Communications here in the philippines has 32mb only. By saying it has 64mb , i think it means 32mb of flash storage and 32mb ram , where as they have probably just stated the amount of storage in the SMART....
Guest Brody Posted December 6, 2003 Report Posted December 6, 2003 Indeed, i'd imagine the memory will be identical as they are all produced by the same manufacturer, HTC.
Guest zeta101 Posted December 6, 2003 Report Posted December 6, 2003 http://msmobiles.com/news.php/1614.html http://www.infosyncworld.com/news/n/4329.html http://www.zdnet.com.au/reviews/coolgear/m...20281617,00.htm All sites ive read seem to agree that the xphone will have 64mb of ROM and 32MB of RAM. According to the 3rd link, it says its been released in australia, and when they tested it they got a few days battery life out of it...hmmm i wonder if this is the one we will be getting here in the UK?
Guest Sonicr360 Posted December 6, 2003 Report Posted December 6, 2003 From a personal view I REALLY DO HOPE O2 bring this phone here to the UK!! I was always an O2 customer, and only moved to Orange for the E100. Now I hardly get a signal, and when I do get calls, they are distorted, broken or disconnect. When I was with 02 the signal was fantastic! So please do bring it as I will certainly be one of the first to get out of Orange and straight to O2! Simon
Guest pyke Posted December 8, 2003 Report Posted December 8, 2003 Indeed, i'd imagine the memory will be identical as they are all produced by the same manufacturer, HTC. that's what i thought too.but it was mentioned in the launching of the XDA II,that the xphone is not as identical as the e200.the e200 was said to be more "commercialized",thus making it cheaper for the masses to buy. ppcsurfer and norbert aquende can attest to that.
Guest Brody Posted December 8, 2003 Report Posted December 8, 2003 Interesting... I suppose we'll have to wait for an official word on this.
Guest lifesuk Posted December 9, 2003 Report Posted December 9, 2003 thanx for responses how about unlocked E200's upgrate, must i use orange to upgrate? its a MS product, any idea of upgrating by MS? or some other ways?
Guest Brody Posted December 9, 2003 Report Posted December 9, 2003 To upgrade through Orange you'll have to already be an Orange customer... MS don't sell the phones to the public.
