Guest bikespod Posted December 4, 2003 Report Posted December 4, 2003 I have a penblue 40m dongle for the laptop. its working fine apparently, but i cannot get it to work as a serial port for active sync. i keep getting the following error message. "unable to connect. verify dial up or proxy settings" this is displayed onthe phone. i have the virtual serial port on com 5, client on com5 and local on com4 as 5 isn't available. i'm not that clued up on this stuff and am locked into a cycle of changing settings and trying again. the call quality is pants on this phone, at least i could enjoy something else working. any help would be much appreciated. i have also checked the boxes in the settings. ](*,) :? thanks
Guest razorhazor Posted December 4, 2003 Report Posted December 4, 2003 Hi Mate, I've got the same problem, basically there isnt a Bluetooth Serial Port Service on the phone hense why you cant connect. I've called Orange and got someone in 2nd line support looking at it now. Apparently Bluetooth Activesync IS supported which is excellent, they just dont know how at the minute. They're gonna phone back tonight or tommorrow depending on when they've got the answer! Fingers crossed! I'll post the fix here if there is one.
