Guest sukipo Posted December 5, 2003 Report Posted December 5, 2003 Can some kind soul help me? I want to use wap only, via GPRS, on my new MPX200, as I have the access pack giving unlimited wap access. I cannot afford to run up huge bills using the Internet via GPRS. The settings given to me by Orange produces the following error: the system cannot locate the resource specified error processing resource http://www.w3.org/tr/rec-html40/loose.dtd line 1, opostion 128 etc etc I have been advised by orange that the phone must be faulty, but I am not convinced. Thanks
Guest martin Posted December 5, 2003 Report Posted December 5, 2003 I assume that you are on the WAP access pack (not Orange World pack). What settings did Orange give you and what page are you trying load ?
Guest martin Posted December 5, 2003 Report Posted December 5, 2003 sukipo Try this Goto Settings-Data connections and change then to the following. Internet connection: Orange WAP WAP connection: Orange WAP Goto Internet Explorer and tick 'auto detect settings.

" I am using the wsp://orange.multimedia address. Thanks for your prompt reply:)
Guest martin Posted December 5, 2003 Report Posted December 5, 2003 sukipo The adddress orange.multimedia is no longer used. The Orange portal is now is http://wap.orange.co.uk
Guest sukipo Posted December 6, 2003 Report Posted December 6, 2003 Thank you for your help! I have now been able to access the orange wap site, however it still goes to full Internet sites in the same session. Does that mean that I have not connected via wap (ie using my access pack) but rather just through GPRS and thus racking up GPRS charges? Is there some way of setting the phone so it will only access wap sites?
Guest Bonzo Posted December 6, 2003 Report Posted December 6, 2003 Using the smartphone platform, (Smartphone 2002 for sure), to access wap sites rather than full web sites U need to substitue wsp:// in place of the normal http://... this will then access the wireless server protocol via the connection manager script
