Guest tonneke Posted December 5, 2003 Report Posted December 5, 2003 Since two weeks something strange things are happening on my SPV. 1.Starting the phone it allways starts by showing/sound a new sms message, just before entering the password. After the start up is finished a new message icon is shown but no new message is available or in the inbox. (doesn't dissapear after phantom message solution in this site) 2. In the Sent items folder it shows a sms message without a recipient, unable to delete it in whatever way (even looking with at the problems described for the inbox/phantom sms message on this site) 3. SMS tools doesn't delete anything anymore in the Sent Items, it does work on the Inbox however  That made me delete my inbox nothing wanting to do that.... Did re-install SMS tools, same problem.. Anybody? thx.
Guest rogerbates Posted December 7, 2003 Report Posted December 7, 2003 I came across a way to get rid of the Phantom SMS message other than the way described on this site (I wanted to keep some of my SMS so didn't want to do it that way!), that was to change the Homescreen layout. I know it sounds strange but for some reason when I changed to other layouts some of them still had the Phantom SMS and some didn't. I just kept changing till I found one that didn't have the Phantom SMS. It isn't a long term solution (if you go back to your original layout is it still there)but it gets rid of the new SMS message everytime you start up the phone and the annoying one unread message thing. Might be worth a go until you find a permanent solution.

Guest tonneke Posted December 7, 2003 Report Posted December 7, 2003 @tonneke try to do instructions 07 then 09 here: http://smartphone.MoDaCo.com/viewtopic.php?t=90189  Thanks tried both, sound and phantom at start-up is gone, now only the phantom sms in my sent-itmes remains; also SMStools doesn't work on the Sent Items when I try to delete the SMS.
Guest BlackHowling Posted December 30, 2003 Report Posted December 30, 2003 Yeah, same problem here. SMStools used to work. But now, for some reason, it can't delete sms in my sent folder. please help!
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted December 30, 2003 Report Posted December 30, 2003 Sent messages are stored in the IPSMMAPI folder. As long as you do not have any sent SMS or emails that you want to save, you can delete the contents of the MAPI folder.
Guest BlackHowling Posted January 2, 2004 Report Posted January 2, 2004 Ok, i deleted all the contents of the MAPI folder but when i go to Menu->Show Folders->Sent Items, it still shows that i have xxx sent items and displays the receipient of the text. and when i click on one of the items, it's empty. When i use SMS Tools, it shows that i do have xxx items in my sent folder. when i click delete all sms, it doesn't work. it still says i have xxx items in my sent folder. what do i do now?
