skins for smart phones

I am looking for a template of sorts. I am a designer and would like to create some skins for this and other smart phones. Anyone know where to find these or something like the dimensions or how to do it? Thanks in advance

The best way is to take apart someone else's work, look in the homescreens section of this forum for an example (or look in my signature!). THIS is a great site for starting to write homescreens as well.

I actually dont know much about coding, and as far as I have read on that MSDN page, this seems much more difficult than it should be. I was hoping this would be a thing that I could just get the sizes I needed, Photoshop up some sweet designs, and then just upload. I guess it is not that easy?

It is pretty easy and you don't need to be able to code at all to do good skins. The only limitation if you can't code is that you won't be able to add your own plugins. The standard ones that come with the phone along with others that various people have witten cover most of what you need tho, and if you're more interested in the arty side of things then this shouldn't be a problem. The only awkward thing I find with creating skins (well homescreens anyway) is knowing what the various plugins for the homescreen do (what properties they support etc.) but you'll soon figure that out. Like Brody says, it's just a matter of taking apart other people's skins, including the ones that come on the phone in the first place, and figuring out what's what from there - I find it's very much like web programming - if you see something you like, just view the source and with a bit of patience it should be fairly self-explanatory. Anyways, if you can't figure something out, just ask on here, someone will almost certainly know the answer :lol:
