Entry: Battery Monitor (updated 10/12/03)

Here is my entry the magical battery monitor.

what it does:

show how much battery power is left

guestimate how much time is left before it goes flat.

what it doesn't do:

run the battery flat

make cups of tea :lol:

update : its now more accurate as i have tested it till it turns the phone off and made it guess how much 'play' time there is left

Ok, I make a similar software but I have a problem :

I launch my app but after some minuites, SPV returns on homescreen, and my timer give me bad number ! (it seems that the timer stop when the SPV is on homescreen !)

Can you help me about this please ?

an icon would be nice, currently ive got the standard white "program" box for the icon - and like coucou mentioned, a plugin would be ace too

I have been doing some thinking again, yes i know its a bad thing when i have to think but to answer your questions:

I might do a graphical version, but i won't have it done in time for the prize so its on the back burner.

I looked into doing a homescreen plugin but there are some issues with that,

1, its very hard to write a plugin, and im only a simple person

2, it would eat battery power.

3, there isn't a 'nice' way to have 'active' time based plugin that doesn't slow the phone down to a crawl or ruin the battery life.

if anyone wants to try and do the plugin, we can talk about it.

You could make the plugin only poll for the battery life say every 5 minutes or even more so you don't drain the battery. Things likt the analogue clock plugin work like that.
