15% OFF all Smartphone software on Handango

Apparently the Promotion Code "WindowsMobile" gives 15% off all Windows Mobile software (Smartphone, Pocket PC and HPC) purchased from the www.handango.com site by Dec 31st.

This code is not documented on the handango special promotion page (http://www.handango.com/Specials.jsp?siteId=1〈=none ).

I was gonna give credit for that to the site that first mentionned this, but unfortunately Paul does not allow mentionning other Smartphone sites on this forum :lol: . This MoDaCo rule makes it impossible to give proper credit to other sources in many cases.

The site in question bears the name of a motorola Smartphone...

Other Smartphone sites are allowed to be mentioned, its other smartphone FORUMS that aren't.

I think its ok if the site has a forum element, so long as the forum is not the main point of the site. (note SmartphoneThoughts in the friends list of the modaco homepage, which certainly has a forum element)

Because starting a site just for the purpose of competing with Modaco, and then advertising on Modaco is just plain rude, and I fully agree with that stance.

Perhaps some more clarification would be good, but I think I've got the gist of it :?:

Well, last time I spoke with Paul (about mentionning Brighthand), he made it clear that he ordered all moderators to remove postings with references to other sites that have Smartphone forums. You seem to interpret his rule differently.

I don't think sites like Brighthand opened a Smartphone forum just to compete with MoDaCo. Brighthand has been around a long time before MoDaCo. They cover Pocket PC and Palm, so it is just natural that they extended their forums to Smartphones. But Paul told me that any reference to Brighthand was illegal on MoDaCo (Paul, feel free to kill this posting).

So mentionning is probably something that Paul would not approve...
