Guest Shuflie Posted December 7, 2003 Report Posted December 7, 2003 Have you managed to connect to GPRS on any other phone with your SIM? You may have the same problem as Orange SPV users had at the start, even though we had asked for the GPRS pack to be added to the account they hadn't actually activated on the SIM.
Guest thebeagle Posted December 7, 2003 Report Posted December 7, 2003 ive been able to connect on my p800 just before it broke and up till a few days ago i was using a gd87 which connected to gprs, do you think its worth getting a new sim card? or is there anything else i can do? im kinda stuck on what to do, also thank you for the reply,
Guest Shuflie Posted December 7, 2003 Report Posted December 7, 2003 If the SIM card has worked with GPRS before then it still should. If you have tried these settings and they don't work perhaps you should contact T-mobile and see if they have any advice. (taken from the GPRS repositry thread in the article forum, if they work thank Syvwlch) Network : T-Mobile Country : UK GPRS Connection : Connects to : "The Internet" Access Point : "general.t-mobile.uk" User Name : "user" Password : "wap" Primary DNS : blank Secondary DNS : blank GPRS WAP Connection : Connects to : "WAP Network" Access Point : "general.t-mobile.uk" IP : "149.254.001.010" User Name : "user" Password : "wap" GPRS MMS Connection : Access Point : "general.t-mobile.uk" IP : "149.254.211.010" User Name : "user" Password : supplied on registration <==????? Guest thebeagle Posted December 7, 2003 Report Posted December 7, 2003 ive followed all of that and now im getting the error " Verify your dial up or proxy settings are correct, and try again, i use to have a proxy setting in there for the gprs for t-mobile off another guide ive copied, things just seem to get from worse to bad, the staff at t-mobile wont show a sign of help once youve told them you dont have a phone that was orignally on there official list, thank you for all your help im really grateful, i really hope i can get the phone to work on gprs, Wap CSD is gonna cost me alot thank you
Guest martin Posted December 10, 2003 Report Posted December 10, 2003 Hi thebeagle I've just read that you're still working on the t-mobile GPRS settings so I've put some info together that will hopefully help [-o:) 1. First goto Internet Explorer, Menu-Options-Connections and tick 'Auto detect settings'. 2. Create a GPRS connection for the Internet over GPRS service. Programs - Settings - Data Conenctions Menu - Edit Connections Create GPRS connection Description: T-mobile Internet Connects to: The Internet Access point: general.t-mobile.uk User name: user Password: one2one Primary DNS: 0.0.0.0 Secondary DNS: 0.0.0.0 IP address: (blank) Programs- Settings - Data Connections Internet connection=T-mobile Internet If T-mobile has activated the internet service then you should be able to access ALL sites (HTML&WML) using HTTP. (i.e http://www.google.com) If it fails to connect then the APN,username & password will need to be confirmed with T-mobile as it may have changed since these were last posted on the net. If you have the GPRS internet service (with 100MB inclusive) then you probably don't need the GPRS & CSD WAP connections although you could still want it to access any WAP sites which refuse to work via the internet connection. 3. Create a GPRS, CSD & proxy connections for WAP service Programs - Settings - Data Conenctions Menu - Edit Connections Create proxy connection Description: T-mobile proxy Connects from: The Internet Connects to: WAP network Proxy (name:port): 149.254.1.10 Type: WAP Username: blank Password: blank Create GPRS connection. Description: T-mobile WAP Connects to: The Internet Access point: general.t-mobile.uk User name: user Password: wap Primary DNS: 0.0.0.0 Secondary DNS: 0.0.0.0 IP address: (blank) Create Dial Up WAP Connection Description: T-mobile CSD Connects to: The Internet Country code: 44 Dialling code: 7953 Phone number: 968999 Username: user Password: wap Domain: (blank) Programs- Settings - Data Connections WAP connection: T-mobile WAP or T-mobile CSD For the WAP connection access all sites using WSP (i.e wsp://www.google.com/wml) MMS settings Create GPRS connection Description : t-mobile MMS Connects to : MMS connection Access point: general.t-mobile.uk User name: user Paswword: one2one Settings - Accessories - MMS setup First field: t-mobile MMS IP: 149.254.211.010 Port: 9201 Mmsc Address: http://mmsc.t-mobile.co.uk:8002
Guest thebeagle Posted December 10, 2003 Report Posted December 10, 2003 thank you for the help, im still having problems connecting, im still getting the error "unable to connect, verify you have network coverage and try again, im going to call t-mobile tomorrow morning and confirm the APN, username and password and if there is a change ill let you know, thank you again for all your help, by the way WAP CSD is working fine that will have to do for the time being but its costly!
Guest annandarren Posted May 9, 2004 Report Posted May 9, 2004 Hi, Thank you so much - for the past 4 days I have been trying everything to connect my smartphone to the internet, Today I followed your instructions and now it works. I am eternally grateful. The t-mobile staff didn't have a clue - and didn't really want to know! Once again thank you
