Guest blueplanet Posted December 7, 2003 Report Posted December 7, 2003 Who is responsible for these problems: (From http://msmobiles.com/catalog/c.php/76.html) 1.E200 Email Bug 2.Bluetooth power problem: drains battery too much 3.Bluetooth headset problem: Bluetooth must be on all the time 4.Joystick is 4 way only, not 8 way 5.Number of Bluetooth profiles too small 6.E200 saved T9 text gets dumped from the phone for no apparat reason 7.E200 T9 display glitch 8.E200 Buzzing (Bad call quality) 9.E200 calendar bug 10.Sound cannot be inserted into MMS messages 11.Poor battery life in E200 12.Some Pocket PC devices and some PCs cannot dial-up over Bluetooth 13.No possibility to dial-up from E200 to Internet (not the other way around) How does this HTC-Orange-Microsoft partnership actually work? And who is working on getting these problems fixed? Or is there no process going on to fix these problems? Who is responsible? I would say Orange. And Orange has to demand Microsoft and HTC to fix these problems. Someone should contact the one responsible at Orange demanding an answer to what is being done to solve these problems and what problems they are working on. And when we can expect a solution to these problems. Has someone done this? If so, what is their response?
Guest skyvalley Posted December 11, 2003 Report Posted December 11, 2003 Mate, don't want to sound patronising but I don't think you understand the complexity of some of the issues you've described. It's not a matter of demanding a fix and it'll appear. Some of these issues will be nigh on impossible to fix without serious code-re-works so I wouldn't hold my breath for any serious fixes. Every handset on the market is riddled with bugs, the reason that these get highlighted more than with other handsets is that all us guys (and gals) who have them tends to be enthusiasts (and often people who work in the industry) so we spot a lot more issues and moan about them a lot more. At the end of the day I get a bit pissed off about handsets being shipped with bugs like these but it's something we're going to have to live with until the platform matures a bit more  As for your responsibility question, it's tough. Orange are responsible for having the final say as to when the products are released so ultimately you could say that they should take responsibility for the issues. Microsoft effectively is a software vendor to HTC all be it in what I imagine to be a more supportive role. They'll probably all just blame each other and nothing significant will get done. Maybe by E500....
