Guest getwired Posted December 8, 2003 Report Posted December 8, 2003 Hi All, My MPx200 came preloaded with Caller ID Software, and although that software is nice, I'm not completely impressed. I have looked at Photo Contacts 2.0, and was wondering if anyone had compared the two. If so, which did you prefer and why? Photo Contacts 2.0
Guest ferret Posted December 8, 2003 Report Posted December 8, 2003 I tried IA Caller ID and thought the templates with the animated crab etc were a bit naff and childish. The system tray thingy at the top I liked. IDentify in theory is the best, in my opinion as it allows you to create your own templates using plain old html but I've had really bad problems with contacts dissapearing from the database. I've cut my losses with this and wouldn't recommened it. I am really pleased with photo contacts, even though it's slightly pricey. You can use themes, simple or full as templates for the Caller ID bit. However if you install it and look at the file structure for the templates, it's really easy to create your own. Just two *.jpg in a folder. However, I think you should do some research into Photo Contacts as to whether it works with your phone. Some issues with the external LCD, but I think this has been resolved with version 2. Mine's running on the original SPV with no problems what so ever. Hope this helps.
