I have tried searching but cannot find and answer to the following problem

My PC Contains entries as follows:-

+44 1234 123456 (without the 2nd space)

I am not using the City/Area Code section

On updating the entry to use the city/area code

+44 (01234) 123456

On exporting to the phone it is shown in contacts exactly as above.

the difference is the extra zero, this works fine on the PC for connecting to a phone system, however, it does not work on the phone, is there anyway around this, without removing the extra 0 from the number.
