Guest jason8 Posted December 8, 2003 Report Posted December 8, 2003 After getting a bit fed up of the speed my regular Sandisk 256Mb SD Card at taking videos on my e200, I decided to buy the new Sandisk Ultra II 256Mb SD Card to see if was any better. ITS GREAT!!! :D :) I usually had to take videos on my e200 to the phones internal memory and then move it to the SD Card using SmartExplorer. If I took a video and captured it straight to my SD Card it would capture the sound ok, but the video at 352x288 would only be about 1fps. :x :x :x But with the Ultra II Card :D :D :D , the e200 captures just as fast to the card as it does to the internal memory. I think the card was designed for high speed transfer for 4MP+ digital cameras. but it works great on the e200! I've found it to be quicker for transfering files to the card from internal memory as well as from my computer to the card using a card reader. and the great thing is u can get it with postage for about £56 off ebay! (do a ebay search for "sandisk ultra") i've already sold my regular sandisk 256mb sd card for £50. :D Recommended!eb_1.jpg
Guest kevlar Posted December 8, 2003 Report Posted December 8, 2003 That's good news. Does it read data quicker too? How about trying a test. Install a game to old sd card ( or orange 8mb card if you don't have your old 256mb any more). Something that takes a while to load, like done in 50 seconds or something similiar. See how long it takes to load the game. Then try it on internal memory, then on your new ultra card. Let us know the results. Obviously anything which speeds the phone up is welcome  Kevlar
Guest jason8 Posted December 8, 2003 Report Posted December 8, 2003 It definitely reads data quicker, tried it when loading large (>10MB) videos from the card and playing it on the multimedia album. I will download Done in 50 Seconds and try it. Will post results when i get some.

Guest Pondrew Posted December 10, 2003 Report Posted December 10, 2003 D'oh. Should have thought of that. In fact that's a great idea.

Guest jason8 Posted December 13, 2003 Report Posted December 13, 2003 Tested out the Done in 50 Seconds (Demo ) installed on the Ultra II Card Time from clicking on icon to the game title screen 7.16seconds. Is that good? Can't test it on a regular 256Mb its been sold already!
Guest jason8 Posted December 13, 2003 Report Posted December 13, 2003 Interstellar Flames - time to the animation 1.86 seconds. SOOO Much faster than the Original SPV, slightly faster than my older one.
Guest idavid Posted December 13, 2003 Report Posted December 13, 2003 how long can you record video with the new card??
Guest jason8 Posted December 13, 2003 Report Posted December 13, 2003 Its a standard 256Mb card, just with a faster read/write rate! at the highest resolution i.e. 352x288 about 40mins 38 seconds. Remember it save it as a AVI with PCM audio so the files are quite big.
