Guest dom Posted December 8, 2003 Report Posted December 8, 2003 Hi, Not sure if I'm doing something wrong but when I try to browse on the MPx200, I have a few problems. 1) I've set 'The Internet' to be 'Automatic' which I assume should use passthrough when the phone is in the cradle? It seems to partially work, and then, but occasionally I get a dialling error (I don't actually have Orange reception at home, the only network that works here is T-Mobile) which suggests that the phone is trying to go via GPRS even though it has a perfectly good passthrough connection to use. 2) When I do connect via the cradle (even if I set 'The Internet' connection to use pass through only), the default homepage for orange will not load, I get the following error: Forbidden You don't have permission to access /redirect.html on this server The page its trying to connect to is wap.orange.co.uk So it seems that orange forbids use of its wap pages unless you connect over the air, is that correct? Also, when I did have an SPV a year ago, I'm sure that it didn't connect to Orange wap site by default, but rather something like spv.orange.co.uk which was a smartphone formatted 'normal' web page. Does this still exist, or is there an equivalent? Thanks in advance for any responses.
Guest martin Posted December 8, 2003 Report Posted December 8, 2003 hey dom 1 Here is a topic containing some alternative pass through settings that might help http://smartphone.modaco.com/viewtopic.php...=97600&start=15 2. Yep, your right - the SPV is now included in Orange World (wap.orange.co.uk) and this can now only be accessed via the Orange network. The old SPV site is no more
