Guest benjconrad Posted December 8, 2003 Report Posted December 8, 2003 I got an MPx200 a few days - and I love it. Having upgraded from a 3310 this is not a great surprise I guess. There are a few things that niggle though, the worst being an audible click every minute or so, when listening to MP3's with the phone out of range of a connection. I like to think of it as the phone crying out, "Where am I?". I don't know if this is limited to the MPx200, and I guess it wouldn't bother many people; but when you spend a couple of hours on the underground everyday, it begins to grate. Has anyone else come across this problem? Can anyone thing of a workaround? Short of installing a mobile network on the circle line  And does anyone know how much the camera will retail for?
Guest Bonzo Posted December 8, 2003 Report Posted December 8, 2003 the best method I guess for U to eliminate this problem if U know for sure U are gonna be totally out of reach of a signal, (which I guess U would if U are on the underground  ), would be to switch the phone to Aeroplane Off... i.e. turn off the transmitter so it won't go looking for a signal :D As for the cam, time will tell I guess but info coming from the US seems to put it anywhere between $90 & $130
Guest Bonzo Posted December 8, 2003 Report Posted December 8, 2003 D'oh.... stupid me I menat switch Aeroplane mode ON not OFF!!!
Guest benjconrad Posted December 8, 2003 Report Posted December 8, 2003 Thank you very much. Just one thing - what is this Aeroplane off mode? I've just searched through the settings quickly, and I can't find anything about turning off the transmitter. Do you know if the MPx200 has this ability? I know that I would end up forgetting to switch it back on, but if I could just do it by switching profiles or something, that would be fantastic.
Guest Bonzo Posted December 8, 2003 Report Posted December 8, 2003 Yeah the phone has the facility... if U go into the quick menu, (Press the on/off button briefly), U can switch Aeroplane mode on/off or switch profiles from there  It's one of those hand functions they choose to forget to mention in manuals... at least I assume they do as I haven't read the one for the MPx but it wasn't mentioned in the original SPV manual :D
Guest benjconrad Posted December 8, 2003 Report Posted December 8, 2003 Thank you so much, that seems to work fine. I imagine that will clear up my problem nicely - although it seems a bit odd that I have to do it. I don't think it was mentioned in the manual; I wonder what else this little phone does that I have yet to discover... thanks again
Guest Bonzo Posted December 8, 2003 Report Posted December 8, 2003 Ahhhh it's a pockefull of surprises
