INTRO:

This article will teach you how to get rid of multiple folders in Inbox/SMS > Menu > Show Folders without doing a http://www.modaco.com/index.php?act=ST&f=1...62&st=0>HARD RESET... on Smartphone2002 devices.

PROBLEM:

Multiple folders (from 2 to 5) , 1 working set, the rest are dummy folders

SOLUTION:

Note: "Radio off" first then close all non-system applications..

A. If cemail.vol in IPSM

---If your cemail.vol is stored in phone IPSM,

1. Use Registry Editor to direct or change the cemail.vol's path to Storage Card

HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Software > Microsoft > MAPI then Values

under DbPath: change IPSM to Storage Card, String Value Data should look like Storage Cardcemail.vol

2. Restart phone.

3. Explore directory IPSM via ActiveSync. Look for the 'buggy' cemail.vol then remove this file or cut/paste to PC.

4. Repeat procedure 1. Enter IPSM in the String Value Data instead of Storage Card. ( restore to default)

5. Restart phone. Check if you still have Multiple folders (Inbox/SMS > Menu > Show Folders)
