Guest grossygrossy Posted December 9, 2003 Report Posted December 9, 2003 Greetings, I keep a lot of information in the notes area of a Contact card such as additional email addresses and phone numbers. The problem is that I can't access the info in the notes area. I'm not talking about Outlook Notes. I am talking about the notes within the Contact (once you're in the contact card, scroll down and "View Notes >"). There are no links to the information in here :?: For example, if I place a phone number or email address in here, I can't access it from the smartphone. On the other hand, you can access information within a task. From a task, the information in the lower window is accessible. This is useful because email and phone numbers are in the form of links which make it easy to select. Ideas on how to access the info in the notes area of a contact card???
Guest grossygrossy Posted December 11, 2003 Report Posted December 11, 2003 Can nobody help me?????
Guest JoelRae Posted December 11, 2003 Report Posted December 11, 2003 If you select your contact then press edit and scroll right down to the bottom of the record, are the notes not there just above "birthday"? I know that's pretty long-winded, but it's the only way I can think of getting the info
Guest grossygrossy Posted December 14, 2003 Report Posted December 14, 2003 The notes are there, but the info is not in link form. In other words, if I have an email address in there, the link does not work. Similarly, a phone number is not a link and cannot be selected. You dig?
Guest JoelRae Posted December 14, 2003 Report Posted December 14, 2003 I dig  I guess one option would be to use the X-bar copy/paste addin, found here... you need to install x-bar, an alt-tab type app that's really useful anyway!! Basically, you would need to get to your contact details, get to the beginning of the number etc you wanna use, call up x-bar (press the voice notes button), press "5" the scroll to the end of the number, then go and paste it into the "enter number to call" box... long-winded I know, but it should work  Hope that helps, Joel
Guest grossygrossy Posted December 14, 2003 Report Posted December 14, 2003 Good idea. I was wondering if there was a xcp program out there.I'll check it out.
Guest grossygrossy Posted December 15, 2003 Report Posted December 15, 2003 Okay...... using screenshots, I hope this makes my plight clearer.SSSSSS.gif
Guest JoelRae Posted December 15, 2003 Report Posted December 15, 2003 So does the x-bar method not work?
Guest grossygrossy Posted December 16, 2003 Report Posted December 16, 2003 Funny you should ask....I installed xBar on my phone and it crashed the OS. My phone locked up - couldn't even turn it off. I ended up taking the battery out. The phone has never been the same. When I sync'd it didn't recognize the device so I had to establish a new partnership. Now I can't sync smartnotes. UGH!!! I don't know what happened.
